Mom Forces Bullying Daughter To Wear Thrift Store Clothes

Kaylee, a fourth grader, was teasing a fellow student about her clothes, so her mom Ally decided to give her a taste of her own medicine.

Ally got an email from a teacher on Wednesday saying that her daughter had been relentlessly teasing another student about her clothes for the last three weeks. When Kaylee got home, Ally sat her down to talk to her. But Kaylee didn’t feel the least bit sorry.

So Ally decided to let Kaylee know what it feels like to be judged on what you wear. She went out to a thrift store and picked out some clothes for Kaylee, then made her wear them to school on Thursday and Friday.

Good parenting or bad parenting?

Tough call. The intent is certainly commendable, but I'm not sure if this will help. Different kids respond to different forms of punishment.

I assume she knows her daughter so I'm thinking it's great parenting.

She talked to her and gave her the chance to understand how bullying can affect people and the daughter didn't seem to care. I bet her daughter listens next time. Love it.

I am so pleased to see a parent that actually recognized a shortcoming of their child and took actions to correct it rather then to blame someone else for their child's poor behavior.

Bullying is one of the hardest thing to stop in school and the main reason is that most people think their little angels were "Just Kidding". Bravo to this mom GREAT JOB!!!
