Tates Creek hosts this year, and will face #4 Lafayette, who lost the third place tiebreaker to Dunbar, in the 4/5 game. The winner of that one goes on to play #1 Lexington Christian Academy. In the bottom bracket, a tantalizing matchup between #2 Lexington Catholic and #3 Dunbar will send one of the State's top 20 teams packing right away. By Region 1 Basketball - Calloway is still #1. Paducah Tilghman moves up to #2 over Murray. Murray owns a win over the Tornadoes but that was in December. If they were to play today I would give the edge to PT. I think that PT might be the only team that can seriously challenge Calloway in the regional tournament. Murray is still playing good but not as well as they were. Graves is on a 4 game winning streak. The Eagles have developed depth this year and Andrew Smith has been a star. Less than a week away from the start of the post season and there might be 5 or 6 different teams with a legit chance at heading to Rupp Arena when the dust settles. Taylor County has won 7 straight, 9 of their last 10 games. By Randy Parker - Crawford becomes scoring leader as Bracken goes 4-0 Jeremy Miles' Bracken County team is on a roll, as evidenced by their current 5-game winning streak. Four of those wins came last week, starting with Monday's 86-71 win at Williamstown, which saw the Polar Bears shoot 64.2% from the floor. Sophomore guard Austin Crawford led with 27 points, 10 rebounds, & 6 assists. Fellow sophomore Jacob Hamilton added 16 points & 6 assists, while a third sophomore, Cooper Enges, added 15 points. However, Doss & DeSales will need to battle it out to emerge as the #1 seed from their district since they reside together. Entering the last week of the regular season Doss and PRP will wrap up with two games against 6th region opponents.
