Second Region Rankings and District Previews

By The Scribe - The road to Rupp goes through the Eighth District. Every year since 2002, the Second Region champion has hailed from District 8. In fact, in 2011 when Christian County won the school’s first state title, they didn’t even win their own district. They advanced to the region tourney as a runner-up to University Heights. It appears that streak will be safe for another year as Christian County has been ranked number one in the state for most of 2016, while Hopkinsville took the Colonels to overtime a few weeks back. The Colonels (24-2, 6-0) haven’t lost to a Kentucky school all season... Read More →

It's a week that gets overlooked by many as we approach the tourney, but some coaches make sure they are tested in that week to see if they are tourney ready, as we witnessed that in the 8th region this week. 1. Owen County- This team has been in this spot all year, pressure of performing each week has not overwhelmed the Rebels. They have taken on all opponents and really been in every game they have played, even their couple losses. A win... Read More →

14th Region District Tournament Previews and Region Rankings

By All State Baseball - 53rd District Tournament Preview: Jenkins High School will be host of this year’s 53rd district tournament. The Knott Central Lady Patriots are the favorites and should win this district by 10+ but Jenkins Lady Cavaliers and Whitney Creech could make some noise and upset the Lady Pats. Knott Central has defeated Jenkins twice this season, once by 18 and one by 11 and not to mention that the Lady Cavs are playing some good ball right now, winning 4 of their last 5 games. If Whitney Creech does what she wants too, then Jenkins can most certainly upset the Lady Pats for the district crown. ... Read More →

By SHS Future - 12th Region Postseason Review and Final Rankings What an awesome year to be a fan of 12th Region basketball. By DragonFire - Final Rankings and Postseason Preview 1. Bowling Green (25-2) High Rank - 1, Low Rank - 1, Average Rank - 1 In the preseason preview we noted that the 14th District dominance this year wore a single color - Purple. Three months later, that hasn't remotely changed. By Wildcatfan25 - Brief Final Rankings before heading into postseason play. I’ll offer up my predictions for the district at the end. Rankings 1. Makes it a fun tournament ride... 1. Owen County- The Rebels and Coach Duvall are approaching 30 wins and that milestone doesn't happen very often. They... Read More →
