3rd Region Notebook & Top 10

By ApolloFan98 - We are two weeks into this young high school basketball season and aside from Meade County, things are as clear as mud across the 3rd. Everyone is beating everyone. Some teams have had some nice wins but seem to follow it up with ugly losses. You can take a blanket and throw it over 2-12 in this region. I expect you're not going to get a real good idea on the middle of the pack teams in this region until late January, but Ill give it a shot... 1.Meade Co(6-0 SAME) - The Greenwaves are living up to their preseason #1 ranking as they are off to a hot 6-0 start, 3 of those coming inside... 10th Region Rankings & Weekly Review (12-14-15)

By Randy Parker - Two weeks of basketball are behind us and parity is the word being thrown around most often in the 10th Region. That parity is reflected in these rankings, which have undergone significant changes, with very little separation between several schools. #1 - Paris (3-1) The Greyhounds began Week 2 with a thrilling 58-56 home win over 40th District favorite Montgomery County on Tuesday night. Junior guard Ryan Davis had but one field goal in the entire contest and it came as the buzzer sounded, breaking a 56-56 tie. All Region forward Koebe Garrard paced Paris with 15 points and 11... 3rd Region Preview (A little Late)

By MountaineerMan - Last year Muhlenberg County defeated Owensboro Catholic in the region final to advance to Diddle. This year will prove to be just as exciting in the 3rd Region as many as 5 teams has a real shot to advance to NKY in the middle of March to compete for a state title. Here's my preview of the teams in the 3rd Region. 15. Trinity (Whitesville) -- With just 8 players (4 High School and 4 Junior High) Coach Jim Little has his work cut out for him. They will be led by a Freshman Nina Wathen who hopes to lead them to improve on their 7-20 mark from last year. 14. Cloverport -- They will... Read More →

2nd Regions Rankings after Week 2

By Jesse James - With only two weeks of the season under our belt and not very many major region matchups thus far, there is still a lot of speculation within the rankings. With some interesting region matchups ahead in the next week, the picture will become much clearer. However, there are still a few shakeups from the preseason rankings based on a few surprises already. 1. Henderson County (1-1); Preseason Rank - #1 Only two games with no region matchups so far, but Henderson County will remain the favorite until someone proves otherwise. A huge win over Apollo and an out of state loss doesn't give... Read More →

PCRO's 10th Region Top 25 Players of the Last 25 Years

By LCDAWGS19 - After nearly 2 months of emails/phone calls/texts/research, we are finally ready to reveal our Top 25 players in the 10th Region over the last 25 years. I want to thank our "selection committee" for their cooperation in this. I have worn out communication with them throughout this process. I spoke with media members and people who have watched extensive amounts of basketball over this time period. The process was simple: rank 1-25 the best players in the region from the 1989-90 season through last season. Then I assigned 25 points for a 1st place vote, 24 for 2nd and so on. The number... Mayfield 2049

By theguru - In a land far far away near the start of the 21st Century Mayfield KY High School dominated little school KY high school football. The Cardinals even beat one school, Beechwood Academy (formerly Beechwood High School) 33 times straight which includes one time before the turn of the century in what is known as the Two Point Conversion game. Back in the early part of the Century the Mayfield fans became hard to tolerate but the rest of the peasant football teams/fans dismissed them because they were only a Class A team. In 2015 Mayfield moved up to 2A and beat Newport Central Catholic in... Read More →
