By ball_coach_4 - We had an exciting week of finishes and buzzer beaters in the 7th. Saw a slight shift in teams 2-5. I expect this to move more next week, since we have some key regional match-ups on the horizon this week. Last week’s rankings are in parentheses (): 1. Male (20-3) (1) The Bulldogs stay at the top of the ladder with a blowout of Collins, and a half court, turn around/almost hook shot from half court buzzer beating win to secure #1 in their district against St. X. They have a gimmie game against Brown tonight, a tough Eastern squad tomorrow, and Shawnee on Friday. I expect them to... Read More →

By 8th Region Warrior - This very well could be the craziest basketball year that we have witnessed in quite sometime. If anyone thinks they can predict a state champion, well all I can say is good luck. What a week in the 8th region, as people are jockeying for playoff position. We are 2 weeks away from the start of district tournament play, and if it is anything like the regular season hang on tight. 1. Andrew Hayden is emerging as a deadly shooter from beyond the arc. Coach Hayden is getting more and more production from his young bench. DC drew 1st place in the 9th district on Sunday. That gives them a first round district matchup with rival Apollo. They have Mclean, Muhlenberg... Read More →

South Laurel handed the Lakers their worse loss of the season (84-47) and the Cardinals had the Jaguars down by 22 before winning, 70-61. Senior center Caleb Taylor didn’t show any effects of... 6th Region Rankings (Week 8) 02/03/16

By GoHardITP - Including Tuesday games of this week. 1) Bullitt East (17-4)- A surprising loss to Bardstown does not knock BE from the #1 spot and they rebounded with a large margin victory over JTown. They still have yet to be beaten by any 6th region team this year. Next two games are also against out of region teams and should be easy victories. The loss to Bardstown may actually be a blessing in disguise as BE will not take any team lightly after that loss. 2) Doss (16-4)- Doss showed no rust from their layoff, they simply blew out 3 teams including two teams from the 6th region, PRP & Moore. ...
