Taylor County (19-8)- Taylor Co. ends the regular season #1 just as they started and will head to the postseason as regional favorites but first they must beat crosstown rival Campbellsville on Wednesday to make region. 2. Dunbar (24-6, 15-2 in region) – It appears they rediscovered their killer instinct and throttled Scott County by 30 in Georgetown. Also beat West Jessamine by 30 before that. By All State Baseball - 1.Shelby Valley (21-3): Lady Wildcats picked up two good wins last week defeating Pikeville (45-29) and Betsy Layne (39-32). Sophomore guard, Summer Rose led the Lady Wildcats with 13 points in their win over Pikeville. Sophomore guard Kayla Newsom added 11 and senior forward Lakyn Mullins added 11 points and 8 boards. Kayla Newsom led Shelby Valley with 12 in their win over Betsy Layne. Summer Rose and Cassidi Wright both added 11 points a piece. Senior forward Lakyn Mullins did not play. They beat Lincoln County 82-64, Woodford County 66-41, and Cordia 66-47. In the win over Lincoln County, Dylan James was leading scorer with 20 points while shooting 57% from the field.
