4th Region Final Rankings and Postseason Preview (2-17-18)

By DragonFire - Final Rankings and Postseason Preview 1. Warren Central (25-4) High Rank - 1, Low Rank - 1, Average Rank - 1 The Dragons sat at the top of our ranks to open the preseason, dethroning Bowling Green after a 23 week run at the top. Central has done very little to dissuade that ranking this season, with perhaps the only moment of doubt coming after a 66-57 loss to Bowling Green in late January. The Dragons ran up a 13-1 region record, with only that loss to Bowling Green and a road win at Greenwood coming by single digit margins. Their season record is good enough for one of the best in... Here is the rankings heading into the final games left from the regular season 1. Butler (24-2): Butler took care of Doss to earn the #1 seed in district play last week and for good measure they also beat Fairdale and John Hardin. BluegrassPreps.com 1st Region Week 11 in Review & Rankings

By silo11 - BluegrassPreps.com 1st Region Boys Basketball Review Week 10 There are 4 legit teams that can win Region 1 and make a splash at Rupp. 2 of those teams have separated themselves from the field, Mayfield and McCracken County. That is not saying someone else won’t win the region, but those two teams are playing very well. They have only lost 3 games between the two of them in 2018. Paducah Tilghman and Graves both have the talent to win the region tournament but need to improve play in order to do so. Fulton County has been playing great basketball lately and moved up to number 6 in the... Read More →

Bluegrasspreps.com 2018 - Inside the 8th Region 2-12-18

By ColonelMike - My apologies for the tardiness of this ranking....but we head into the final week of the regular season with the top 3 still firmly in the top 3 spots that they've held for a while.... 1 Walton-Verona (22-5) Last week: #1 The preseason number one remains in that spot this week after a pretty easy week last week. The Bearcats blasted Lloyd Memorial 72-33, and slammed St. Henry, 80-51 last week. Walton hit 50% or more in both games, and got - as usual - two sterling efforts from senior guard Brennan Stanley (15 and 16 points, respectively). Encouraging for the Cats was the fact... Let's take a quick look at last week and see how we look with the post-season just around the corner. 1. Clark County (25-3, 12-1 region). Coach Cook's Cardinals extended their streak to 15 with three victories last week.
