By Voice of Reason - Here we are. Friday at 2 pm at the University of Kentucky's Kroger Field we get the game we have been anticipating since Pikeville walked over Lexington Christian in game 2. Beechwood was the pre-season #1 and they have held steadfastly to that #1 ranking all year. Pikeville has proven themselves the clear #2 team. It is just how we all hope these games play out. By theguru - For Immediate Release: November 27, 2018 The KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl returns to Kroger Field for the second-straight year this weekend, when the state football finals are contested Nov. 30th through Dec. 2nd on the University of Kentucky campus. Logan County and Wayne County both exited in the second round in matchups against higher ranked squads. 7 – The number of #1 seeds that advanced to the region finals. For the top ten teams in Kentucky we looked at why each team could win the state championship, why they couldn't, and what was their ultimate outlook for the season. Not surprisingly, the four teams at the top - Boyle County, Central, Belfry, and Corbin - remained at the top all season. By ATLCat - Nothing Upsetting: Favorites Roll It was clear entering the Semi-Finals that despite fantastic seasons, both teams hosting their respective games had an uphill climb to knock off Mayfield and CAL respectively. Trinity beat Ballard earlier in the year, 19-14. Many expected this one to be the same way. This game didn’t go the way of the first, as it was pretty much over from the opening kickoff.
