16th Region Week 4 Ranking

By 24Bricks - 16th Region Basketball Week 4 Ashland suffered their first defeat of the season this week to George Rogers Clark, while another top Region team, Boyd County, dropped a game to Estill County. The remainder of the region performed about as expected, with a couple of exceptions, including a 95-point night for Fairview over Menifee County. Greenup’s Hughes is playing well and putting up big points consistently. Unfortunately, what most are already aware of, the region isn’t competing very well against the rest of the state. The teams top to bottom in the 16th are mostly competitive with... Read More → 1st Region Week 3 Review & Rankings

By silo11 - 1st Region Boys Basketball Review Week 3 Big game this week between Paducah Tilghman and Graves County. Winner would be the number one in the region for this week rankings. By silo11 - Not a whole lot of movement this week in the rankings. Almost all teams won the games they were supposed to so no real upsets took place although some of the games were definitely closer than predicted. We are getting ready to enter into the Holiday Tournaments. Some teams will play some tough schedules, but not a whole lot should change between now and when district play gets into action in early January. 1. Christian County – Coach Kerry Stovall *BGP #19 2017-18 record: 5-1 Week’s Record: 2-0 Last Weeks Rank: 1 Detorrion Ware continued his tear this week scoring 32 against... By mcpapa - Week 3 is history. Not too much change in the rankings, as the top teams performed about as expected. School is out (in lots of places, anyway), and we're in for a couple of weeks of holiday tournaments. My avatar got married yesterday. Just another week at the office. Here's last week's recap: 1. Campbell County (7-1, 3-0 region). The Camels were victorious in all three of their games last wee, running their winning streak to 7. The season-opening loss to Cooper is a fading memory. First was an 86-59 manhandling of previously unbeaten Paris that saw 4 Camels hit double figures,... Read More → 11th Region Week 3 Recap and Rankings

By mooremiller31 - We are a quarter of the way through the season in the 11th Region and the cream has begun to rise to the top!! Lots to discuss this week as we get ready for some upcoming Christmas tournaments as well!! Team of the Week Bryan Station - For the second time in 3 weeks the Defenders take home the team of the week, and rightfully so!! Station Nation finished the week 5-0 and took home the championship trophy from the Berea Invitational. Congrats to the Defenders. Player of the Week Jared Gadd - Paul Laurence Dunbar Gadd has an impressive week averaging 17.1 points per game in 3 games... Read More → Inside the 8th Region - Week 3 12-18-17

By ColonelMike - OK, truthfully, I've been dreading this moment. I have to choose. Oldham County or Walton-Verona. The Colonels or the Bearcats. One of the two shiniest up-and-coming stars in the coaching ranks. Two teams with some great individual talents. The region's number one offense - or its number one scoring defense. Ever since Oldham County's 53-51 win over the Cats on Friday, I've gone back and forth in my mind... the clarity between the two still isn't there, even after a head-to-head matchup. And what a matchup it was....the intensity level was post-season caliber, and it lasted all... Read More → 9th Region Rankings 12/18/17

By MidwestUnited - Game of the Week: Covington Catholic vs. Cincinnati Moeller: Coming in Moeller was ranked No. 1 in Cincinnati (also ranked in the top 25 in nation) and Covington Catholic was ranked No. 1 in Northern Kentucky. This one was sold out almost two days in advance and many D1 coaches attended this showdown. Covington Catholic posted a 58-53 victory. Covington Catholic was led by C.J. Fredrick (23 points), Aiden Ruthsatz (15 points) and Jake Walter (10 points). Many observers believe this was one of the best atmospheres for an area high school basketball game in years. Best holiday tournament... Read More → 15th Region Week 3 Recap and Rankings (12/18/2017)

By SHS Future - 2017-2018 12th Region Weekly Updates It was a great week of basketball last week as records were broken and some teams are getting off to the best start they have had in a few years. Pulaski County is hanging firm at the top of the rankings but there was still some movement due to district competition getting underway. Take a look at this week's 12th Region rankings. 12th Region Rankings: 1) Pulaski County Maroons (3-1) – The Maroons went undefeated last week but the talk of the town was Stephen Fitzgerald. He set a Pulaski County single game scoring record with 54 points in the... Read More → 3rd Region Rankings 12/18/17

By ApolloFan98 - Early in the season, it looks like the 9th district is the class of the 3rd Region. At least as of right now, their is a major drop off after the top 3 teams in Daviess County, Owensboro Catholic and Owensboro. The Devils may have the highest of any team in the region, as they turned a lot of heads state wide with a big win over Christian County this past week. It will be interesting to see if anyone outside the city can compete with the teams from Owensboro. 1.Daviess County Panthers (6-1) – UP 1 - DC moves into the top spot this week after their huge win over Owensboro Catholic on... By 24Bricks - 16th Region Basketball Week 3 Things in the 16th Region still aren’t becoming any clearer. Ashland is looking strong in the region going into a match up with George Roger’s Clark. Boyd County suffered a lose against Louisville Ballard but played a decent game and bounced back the next day with a win. Lewis and Morgan are playing well within the region, but the remainder of the region is a toss-up. Any given night could mean a win or a loss to any other team. The upcoming week brings holiday showcases, with mostly local matchups. 1. Ashland (7-0) – Ashland went 3-0, again... Read More → Inside the 14th Region Week 3 Re-Cap

By Sportslover32 - 1. John Hardin (6-0): John continued its winning ways, by winning both district games this week. They blew out Central Hardin 93-69, and beat North Hardin at North in their first close game of the year, 55-51. John has shown they are the class of the 5th region, so far this year. Pearson and Wright have been great, but Alex Matthews has been a pleasant surprise, as he had 20 and 15 vs Central. He has provided great rebounding for John for an already big team. 2. Larue County (6-0): Larue, like John, is still undefeated this year, and they blew out two teams this week. They beat Edmonson at... Read More →'s Seventh Region update and rankings - 12/18/17

By Smallhoops - Three weeks into the season and we are down to two unbeaten teams in the Seventh Region, the Trinity Shamrocks and the Waggener Wildcats. Both face big challenges this week, with Trinity playing in the ultra-competitive King of the Bluegrass tournament and Waggener facing Scott County and George Rogers Clark (and Covington Holmes). Conversely, there now are no winless teams remaining in the Seventh Region. Seneca and Central were the last to get on the victory train, and they did so in impressive and exciting fashion this week, with Seneca beating St. X in overtime and Central beating... Read More →

Inside the 13th Region (12/17/17)

By Les - 1. (tie) Knox Central (7-1 overall, 0-0 vs. 13th Region competition) The Panthers got off to their best start in more than 20 years after beating Johnson Central Friday, 77-69, but suffered their first loss of the season to West Virginia’s George Washington High School on Saturday, losing, 74-65. Senior guard Markelle Turner led the way with 27 points. With both Knox Central and Corbin being so close, I’ve gotta leave both of them tied atop the rankings. I’m thinking next week’s Cumberland Falls Invitational will show who the best team is. 1. (tie) Corbin (5-1, 3-0) The Redhounds had a... Read More →
