In fact, the brackets held to form with a few near upsets, but out of 24 first round games in this end of the state, 16 had running clocks by game’s end. By Ram - The Week In Review: Raceland 62 Phelps 14 The Rams rested some players in this first round game. The result: Sophomore running back Carson Christian rushed for 117 yards on 8 carries. Team Leading Rusher Daylin Beach carried three times for two scores and 89 yards. Two Raceland players scored their first Varsity touchdowns - Trey Mills and Nathaniel Davidson. By DragonFire - Inside South-Central Kentucky Football (11-11-13) -Ho-hum, just the usual first round running clock for Bowling Green (10-0) as they began their march to a third straight state title with a 49-7 victory over Apollo. The win was their 40th consecutive and clinched their 22nd double digit win season in the last 26 years. Bowling Green opened the throttle early to gain the necessary 36-0 lead before the end of the first quarter, then used most of the remainder of the game to play reserves and stay healthy moving forward. Bluegrass Area Playoffs Week 2 Update

By Bluegrasscard - "Family Affair" Its an all-District 7 in the second week of playoffs. Scott County, as expected, defeated George Rogers Clark 63-34. Henry Clay, with Elijah Bell in the line-up, had no problems defeating Madison Central 55-6. Bryan Station pulled off what was an upset only in the seeding charts, defeating Lafayette 28-14. The headliner game in this region was the Dunbar-Tates Creek game. Though a 1-4 match-up according to the seeding this game was expected to be an exciting one. By Les - Class A Pineville (7-4) at Williamsburg (8-2), 7:30 p.m. This will mark the third time these two teams have met this year. Williamsburg won an SEKC scrimmage game with ease, and then picked up an easy 47-0 win at Pineville just two weeks ago. By thsrocks - The Shamrocks (5-5) host their second round playoff game with the Manual Crimsons (9-2) this Friday evening. The kickoff set for 7:30PM. The Crimsons thrashed Ballard (5-6) 41-0 & the Shamrocks handled the Eastern Eagles (4-6) 49-16. This contest is a rematch of the October 11 game won by Trinity 38-30. In action this past Friday versus Eastern, Trinity’s junior RB Donald Brooks gained 153 yards on 14 rushing attempts.
