The improved play by Brad Carr's squad over the last several weeks has not gone unnoticed, but this week the Eagles made it known that the race to Rupp in the 10th Region is far from a two-horse battle. The Owen County Rebels have a 4 game winning streak after sweeping the 8th Region All "A" Classic with wins over Gallatin County, Eminence, and Walton-Verona. The Rebels added an additional win over Eminence in a 31st district seed game before heading to Frankfort for the All "A" Classic State Tournament where they will face 13th Region champion Middlesboro. Happy Osborne's 19-3 team participated in the Toyota Classic at Scott County & came away with an impressive championship run. The Indians started the tournament by making quick work of 9th Region foe Dixie Heights on Thursday. Friday saw Montgomery outscore Collins 22-5 in the fourth quarter, turning a five point deficit into a twelve point victory. Holmes (20-0) Why: The Bulldogs went 2-0 this week against 10th region teams. 1/15: Holmes 59 Mason County 50- Holmes put three guys in double figures in the road win. Quentin Chames (16 pts), Quan Palmer (16 pts), and James Bolden (15 pts) all three had solid nights with Chames also having a game high 9 rebounds. Bolden only played 18 minutes in the loss but Holmes was able to show why they are the most complete team in the region top to bottom. By dolamite - With only a couple of teams not playing in the 15th Region "All A" Classic, the past week or so has really gave us a chance to see where the region stacks up against one another a little over midway through the season. One of the surging teams of late has been the Pikeville Panthers, a team that has been up and down in our rankings this season. After the Ray Kasongo eligibility ruling was over turned on appeal we instantly dubbed Pikeville as a top 3 team, then they went on a skid losing six of seven. The teams shown with stats have submitted them to the KHSAA. The Collins Titans (10-4) have gone 1-2 since the first of the year with losses at Anderson County 55-43 and at home against Louisville Trinity 75-65 before getting a road win at Shelby County 79-57.
