Wolfe County, winners of 8 of their last 10 came in on a 3 game winning streak (won the Powell County tourney)…..Breathitt County, winners of 8 of their last 10 came in winning 1 straight. By All State Baseball - 1.Daviess County and Apollo both improve to 9-2 Daviess County: The Panthers traveled to regional opponent McLean County to participate in McLean County’s holiday tournament. Panthers got off to a good start winning 47-41 over Paducah Tilghman. Daviess would lose their second round game with Waggener 69-54 but they’d bounce back to defeat the host school, McLean County 47-45. Daviess County would come back home to host Hancock County on December 30tt. This game would go the Panthers way as they would roll to a 80-54 victory over Hancock County. Read More →

Head Coach Denny Barnes and the NewCath Thoroughbreds look to improve upon last season’s 15-14 record that saw the Breds play like “Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde”, so to speak, as the season went along. By PurplePride92 - Team Rankings: 1. Wayne County: Wayne County remains at the top of the 12th Region to begin the new year. They sit at 12-0 overall and are 3-0 against 12th Region opponents. They have 12th Region victories over Lincoln County, Southwestern and Casey County. While their out of region schedule may not be the most competitive schedule so far, there hasn't been any reason to not rank Wayne County as the best team in the 12th Region so far. Leading the region with 9 wins, they went 2-1 in both tournaments they played in. They beat Greenup in the Our Lady of Bellefonte Classic at Greenup and host South Point (OH) as they come home and look to be the first to double digit wins. By All State Baseball - 1.Patriots go 2-2 in Republic Bank Classic @ Lexington Catholic Knott County Central made the trip to Lexington Catholic to participate in the annual republic bank holiday classic. Knott County Central got things started in the first round by demolishing Henry Clay 74-44. Evan Hall led the Patriots with 24 points while Tennessee commit Camron Justice added 23. On Friday night against Bell County, the Indians found themselves trailing by 7 at the half, but thoroughly dominated in the second half, outscoring the Bobcats 45-20 on their way to a 66-48 win.
