By The Scribe - Second Region Top 10 1. Hopkinsville (21-4) - The Tigers have won 13 straight games and have a 10-0 record inside the region. Closest region game has been a six point win over Henderson County in December. 2. Henderson County (20-3) - Colonels have won 13 of 14 games, only losing to Collins last week 37-34. 3. Webster County (15-9) - The Trojans have won five of six, only losing to UHA in the All-A finals last week. 4. The senior had his biggest performance of the season in a Thursday night road win at Augusta, scoring 35 points & connecting on 13-13 free throws. The standout swingman was huge in a crucial 4th quarter, scoring 14 points & connecting on all 10 of his charity stripe attempts, as the Camels outscored the Panthers 25-13 en route to a 73-67 victory. Holmes (24-0) Why: The Bulldogs broke the school win streak this week and remained undefeated. 1/29: Holmes 71 Dixie Heights 56- The Dogs trailed by 2 at the end of the first quarter but used a 24-9 second quarter to pull away and put the game out of reach. James Bolden finished with 18 pts, 6 ast to lead 5 double digit scorers. Holmes (22-0) Why: The Bulldogs stayed perfect with two wins this week. 1/22: Holmes 68 Ryle 47- Ryle led at the half 29-26, but it was all Dogs in the second half as they slowly pulled away to notch their 21st victory of the season. The improved play by Brad Carr's squad over the last several weeks has not gone unnoticed, but this week the Eagles made it known that the race to Rupp in the 10th Region is far from a two-horse battle. The Owen County Rebels have a 4 game winning streak after sweeping the 8th Region All "A" Classic with wins over Gallatin County, Eminence, and Walton-Verona.
