Inside the 7th Region (2-6-17)

By PurplePride92 - News and Notes: In the department of not much has changed Trinity is still the top team in the 7th Region. With Jacob King back in the fold Trinity is every bit as powerful now as they were at the beginning of the season when they were without him. With four players averaging double figures in points it will not be an easy feat for any team to knock Trinity out of the postseason. Waggener has added Devin Cooper back onto their team and he is averaging around 23 points a game right now for Waggener. Waggener has gone 2-5 since Cooper has joined the team but they have lost those... Read More →

8th Region Recap Week 10 2/6/17

By 8th Region Warrior - Where has this season gone? It seems as it has moved really quick or I am just getting older. Coaches are tired, players are tired, BUT anticipation of best part of the season is coming up. Everything teams have worked for will be dangling in front of them in two weeks. Throw records out the window, as a new season begins in the Bluegrass state. In the 8th region it is really hard to say who will be playing in Roy Winchester gymnasium. By ChiefSmoke - If you know of a family that would benefit from this information, please share the link below. Thank you- ChiefSmoke This time of year, parents begin to ask me about summer camps for their son. Here is how I handled it when I coached my oldest son, John Combs. He went to three tough camps that worked him hard and helped him improve at the linebacker position. Before his freshman season, he spent 3 days at the UK camp, working with Chuck Smith. Before his sophomore season, he spent three days at the Tennessee camp, working with Sal Sunseri. Prior to his junior year, he spent three days... Read More →

Signs: A good one.... and spring football is on the way

By ChiefSmoke - 60268 My good friend Bruce Jones brought back our helmets today from the reconditioner, Capital Varsity. Bruce does a great job making sure our stuff is right when it gets back to us and I really appreciate that about him. As we popped open those boxes and got out our helmets, which always look new when they get back from the reconditioner, I felt like a little kid again. I am thankful that I am getting ready for another season of football. It always takes me back to when I was four years old and my mom took me out to see my Dad one summer afternoon at Boyle County. He and the... Read More →
