Held annually since 1948, the LIT is Kentuckyís oldest regular season high school basketball tournament and has evolved into a true city championship for teams in the Sixth and Seventh Regions. By ColonelMike - First off, many, many thanks to everyone - to Ru, True Blue and Gold, and all of you for your patience in awaiting this week's update. As some of you know, I've been struggling with some health issues that have resulted in my having to deal with rather intense pain at times. Over the holidays, this worsened to the point where the pain was a 24/7 thing, and I simply couldn't concentrate on what I was writing. I was able to do a couple of broadcasts earlier this week, but came home from both so exhausted and in so much pain I wasn't able to draft the update. Anyway, I'm doing a bit... By ApolloFan98 - With the first half of the season in the books, the 9th district teams look to be the toughest in the region. Owensboro has established themselves as the mid season favorite with their inside out game and swarming full court defense. Daviess County has proven to be tough as nails early on, and should be in the mix until the very end. Apollo and Owensboro Catholic both have the potential to make runs at a championship but have a lot of work to do before then. Outside the city of Owensboro, Meade County again looks to have itself in position for another run into the tournament. Can anyone... Read More →

By 24Bricks - 16th Region Basketball Week 5 Week 5 in the 16th Region was like everywhere else in the state, Holiday Tournament time. The AIT stood out this year with a Boyd County Ashland game reminiscent of the late nineties. It was good to see, as the rest of the region struggles to find itself still. Tournaments in Greenup and Bath County were competitive but not necessarily well played at all times. The teams in the Region that travelled outside to play during the holiday season didnít fare as well as they wouldíve hope, Iím sure. It sounds like an excuse, but if the cumulative property...
