By DragonFire - You might not be aware of it, but Greenwood turned in one of their best seasons in school history last season. The Gators opened up the season 5-0, their best start and longest winning streak in school history. Their 8 wins were the most ever in the regular season for the program, and second most in a complete season despite falling in their first playoff game. Franklin County Flyers

By CoachBuckett - Even though the Franklin County Flyers last season had one of the most electrifying offenses in the state scored 56.6 points a game. The Flyers loss in the Regional Final is not the place they wanted to end their season. Coach Tracy said he felt the lost the battle in the trenches against Cooper. The Flyers where lead last season by Mr. Everything Ryan Timmons and QB Logan Woodside. Both young men have moved on to play D-1 football. So that leaves this year’s team with a lot of unanswered questions on the offensive side of the ball. A lot of folks have been asking who replaces Timmons.... Read More →

Warren East Raiders

By DragonFire - The 2012 season was an historic one for the Warren East Raiders. They set the school mark for wins in a row at 13. They completed not only the first undefeated regular season in school history, but also became the first school in the Warren County Public School system to ever accomplish that feat. The only black mark on the season was the resounding thud it ended in - a 58-7 drubbing by Collins in the state semifinals. The Raiders will be looking to wipe that taste out of their mouths in the 2013 season. They'll also be looking to a new head coach to lead them to their ultimate goal of... Read More →

Fairview Eagles

By Ram - Fairview It’s been proven that Fairview has a knack for finding talent walking the halls, the halls of other schools. After several years of having new found talent transfer to Fairview from out of state, it is truly hard to predict who will trot on the field for the Eagles in 2013. 2012 saw the KHSAA ruling a player ineligible, just to end with a local judge issuing an injunction allowing him to play. Will Fairview see more drama in 2013? Stay tuned. Fairview has received one transfer from Huntington West Virginia - Coach James Hopkins. Coach Hopkins was a former assistant coach at... Warren Central Dragons

By DragonFire - Over the past two years, the Dragons have established themselves as arguably one of the top 10 teams in the state regardless of class. They have played in three straight region title games, and have only one loss to a team in those three years that didn't play for a state title. Unfortunately for Warren Central, they have six losses to teams that did, and three of those losses prevented them from winning even a single region title during that time. In the last two years, the prevailing feeling on Morgantown Road is that Bowling Green prevented them from not only winning a region title, but... Read More →

Frankfort High Panthers

By CoachBuckett - The most frequent question Coach Foley and his staff are asked at Frankfort is, “Coach Can we beat Beechwood this year?” Since Coach Foley’s arrival in Frankfort they have won 7 straight District Titles, a Regional Championship and a Semi-finals appearance. But none of that matters to the Panther faithful. Is this a fair question the coaching staff should have to answer? Or have the Panther Coaching staff maximized their talent pool given the school has only 115 boys? Offense The questions the Frankfort coaching staff keep asking themselves who will step up to replace 70% of the offense... Read More →

Holmes Bulldogs

In 2012, the Bulldogs finished 6-5 with huge wins over 2A state champion Newport Central Catholic, as well as 1A state semi finalist, Beechwood. Heading in to this season the Bulldogs will look to replace not only seniors, but also last year’s head coach, as Ben Nevels takes over the program in his first season as Holmes’ football head coach. “ It’s been a growing experience for both the kids and myself,” Said Coach Nevels.” Just laying the foundation of what expectations are going to be, how we’re going... Ryle Raiders

By Walter - It was a rough 2012 season for the Ryle Raiders as they finished 3-8, with a first round playoff loss to Scott County 42-10. The Raiders closed the season on a 5 game losing streak, but the record can also be attributed to the tough schedule that Ryle played, which consisted of games against 4A state champion Highlands, 5A state runner up Cooper, 6A state semi finalist Scott Co, and national ly ranked Colerain out of Cincinnati, OH. “ 2010 we ran in to some challenges with our schedule but had a great season and then ran in to a brutal schedule in 2011 and 2012” Said Ryle head coach... Bowling Green Purples

By DragonFire - Last year the Purples featured a team that only returned four starters following their triumphant 2011 season. Everyone knew they would still put out a typically strong team, but 2012 was viewed as a window of opportunity, a time when maybe a team's best shot could knock Bowling Green off the mountaintop. The Purples responded with an emphatic "YOU MISSED." Bowling Green ran the table again to push their win streak to 30 straight wins, which included their second win in two years over vaunted St. X. That Bowling Green is the premier program in western Kentucky is a given. But the whispers... Read More →
