By DragonFire - 1) Bowling Green (10-2) - 12/28 67-15 W Murray, 12/29 72-51 W Owensboro, 12/30 55-42 W #2 Franklin-Simpson Previous Rank: 1 This Week: 1/3 at #9 Barren County, 1/6 at #4 Greenwood, 1/7 vs. Dixie Heights (at Muhlenberg County) Bowling Green rebounded nicely from their first two losses of the year by sweeping their holiday tournament in dominating fashion, with all three results coming by double digits. That included an early matchup of the region's top two teams, with the Purples knocking off Franklin-Simpson a few weeks ahead of their scheduled meeting. The Purples continue to get... 10th Region Recap and Rankings - 1/2/17

By mcpapa - Lots of holiday action for most of the teams in the 10th. The region's top-ranked squad did not disappoint and managed to distance itself even further from the rest of the pack. This week will see most area small schools participating in the 10th Region All-A tournament. I still believe that any of 6 or 7 teams can catch fire and make a late-season run to Rupp, but right now it appears to be Campbell County's to lose. Without further ado... 1. Campbell County (12-1, 3-1 region). The Camels ran their winning streak to ten as the captured the Lloyd tournament trophy. First was a 78-46... Read More →

11th Region Week 5 Rankings and Recap

By mooremiller31 - The holiday tournaments have come and gone and the 11th Region is starting to take form for the stretch run. As always the 43rd district looks to be a nightmare for the teams involved while the rest of the region could end up in who knows what type of order. Should be a fun ride to February and I expect the cream to rise to the top. Team of the Week - Madison Southern The Eagles had an outstanding Christmas break. Winners of 8 in a row and the Mountain School Boy Classic. Michael Jefferson is averaging 16.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Eagles. After a 0-3 start to the season... Read More →

Inside the 12th Region (1/2/17)

By SHS Future - Inside the 12th Region Happy New Year to all of the BluegrassPreps community! As we welcome the new year, we can also reflect back on December to analyze what we have learned about the 12th Region thus far. Pulaski County looks to be the team to beat. Southwestern, Mercer County, Lincoln County, and West Jessamine look to be teams that can challenge the Maroons but are not quite on the same tier as Pulaski County. The 48th District could be a competitive district as all three teams have winning records coming into January. And Peyton Gover is making his mark on the 2016-2017 season as he... Read More →

By ApolloFan98 - 1.Apollo Eagles(11-1) – SAME – Since losing their season opener, Apollo has won 11 straight. This includes a 4-0 run in the OIT and a 3-0 run in their own Holiday tournament. While Hopewell is the leader of the team, Apollo is getting great contributions from its role players like Alex Gray 13/7 & Austin Tyler who took home MVP awards in the Apollo tournament. Nathan Boyle(12ppg) is a great shooter, but has really improved taking the ball off the dribble this season. This has helped open him up from the outside. Apollo’s biggest improvement from this year to last however, is probably on... Read More →

Inside the 6th Region (1/2/2017)

By coachlee - As we look back on the 2016 part of the 2016-17 season one thing is for sure....the 6th region can make a strong case as the juggernaut of all 16 regions this season. At season's end if you make it out of the 6th, you will have earned your trip to Rupp and be battle tested. The 6th has always had teams capable of winning the State Tournament, but the overall depth this season makes it a region that few can match. What we have learned so far is that the top 7 teams all can pack a punch. At the top, the Fern Creek team has played as tough a schedule as anyone in the state while only losing... Read More →
