Inside The 11th Region (2/15/15)

By JokersWild24 - Another wild week in the 11th have passed, some news is breaking, and we've got a shakeup to our rankings. What else is new? We've seen some games with huge implications this week, including LCA's going to Lexington Catholic and beating the Knights to take the #1 seed in the 43rd, which for my money, is toughest district in the State. We've also seen Lafayette knock off Trinity and serve notice that they are going to be a force for anyone as they ride an impressive streak that also includes a win over Bryan Station that's left a buzz of it's own. With our Lexington-area district... Read More →

Bowling Green Purples; Can they get back to the Carpet?

By Purple Nation - Well, most HS football fans that don't live in Graves County would have thought the Purples would have gotten their 4th ring in 4 years. The old saying is true, "That's why they play the game." Can 2015 be a comeback to the state finals for the Purples? The short answer is yes but there are some pretty large holes to fill. Hurdle #1: The Defensive Line. You don't just replace arguably the best D - line in the state (ask St. X). Some younger kids have 6 months to bust their hump in the weight room. To the Purples advantage, Coach Wallace has one of the best, if not the best coaching staffs... Read More →

Two Division-I Schools Interested in Weyer

By PrepHoopsKY - 2016 Newport Central Catholic forward Ben Weyer is having a tremendous junior season so far for one of the top teams in the state. Ben is a very versatile forward that can play both inside and outside. Hes a good perimeter shooter and can take slower defenders off the dribble and score at the rim. Hes a good rebounder and a very good finisher around the rim. He does need to get stronger, but that should come as he continues to develop.
