Just promise me that Gonzalez and Bradley never play for the US again.

It's a tough pill to swallow when you invest 4 years into a team and they don't make it. I want them all gone. I'd rather lose with people who try than guys who jog around the field and act like they're too good to play on wet grass.

I read FOX just paid $200 million for the English rights for the World Cup and had planned the largest production in their history with 350 hours of programming.

    That has to sting.

The US has made every World Cup since the first time I kicked a soccer ball. I look forward to it every four years. I can not believe they allowed Trinidad to derail them.

Interesting fact that the US clinched their first World Cup berth in forty years in 1990 when they won at Trinidad and now, after seven consecutive appearances it is a loss at Trinidad that keeps them out.

Can you imagine being Omar Gonzalez if this was a soccer-first country? Lucky for him, 75% of Americans will forget that OG by the week's end, but man, that other 25% will NEVER forget it. What a lazy, lazy attempt to clear that ball.

I feel bad for Gonzalez, he shouldn't have been put in that spot by the coaching staff.

It's almost 12 hours later and I'm more furious than I was before I went to sleep.

If we don't start seeing massive changes in US Soccer in the next couple years, I'm out on these guys. The MLS teams are finally starting to have academies and that's a nice start; it should be the beginning of the end of pay to play youth soccer.

The next coach is a huge area of concern. Arena was exactly what Sunil Gulati and the USSF wanted: an MLS guy. Tonight's lineup was Pulisic, Yedlin and the MLS all stars... and they weren't anywhere NEAR good enough. We should expect more from our biggest professional league and we should expect more from the national team.

Whatever. Club over country, every time.

    Go Lou City.

We had Geoff Cameron sitting on the bench and we play our slowest CB vs one of the more athletic teams in the region w/ ONLY Michael Bradley holding... Arena's arrogance got the better of him.

I didn't like the line-up either, but a CB with the number of CAPS that he had going into last night has to be able to clear a ball with his off foot with some degree of competence. To remove all blame from him to heap it on Arena and his line-up is nonsensical to me. It wasn't even a tough ball to handle / clear, it was as routine as it gets expect that it was on his off-foot -- HANDLE it.

Where does one procure a brush this broad? Ace Hardware? True Value? Home Depot? I don't know if it could fit in my tool-box, but I'm often in need of an uber-wide broad brush for just this reason.

It's very simple...rich talented kids can play select. Poor talented kids cannot. You're alienating about 80% of your talented players by forcing them to pay $2,000-4,000 a year.
