USA U-17s beat Cuba 6-2 and so have qualified for September's U-17 World Cup. Now will play the winner of tonight's late game between Mexico and Costa Rica for the CONCACAF Championship on Sunday.

As soon as I find a clip of Andrew Carleton's goal just before half, I'll post it. It's a good one.

Disappointing end to the tournament. U-17s lost to Mexico in the final. Went up 1-0 just after halftime and had at least two good chances to put the game away in the final 10 minutes but couldn't bury them.

Gave up the equalizer in the 93rd minute and eventually lost on penalty kicks. Frustrating to have it go that far and lose on the PK crapshoot.

Still easily qualified for the U-17 World Cup so we'll see what they can do.

U-20s won their group over the weekend, sending them into the Round of 16 against New Zealand.

17-year-old Josh Sargeant has been the player of the tournament so far, notching, I think, four goals in three games. It looks like he's turned that into a contract with the Bundesliga's Werder Bremen, where he'll join fellow American Aron Johansson.

Roster released yesterday for June's World Cup Qualifiers. Hard not to like this roster. Other than a couple midfielders, I can't think of anyone I would have added.

GOALKEEPERS (4): Brad Guzan (Atlanta United FC; 13/0), Ethan Horvath (Club Brugge/BEL; 0/0), Tim Howard (Colorado Rapids; 35/0), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake; 0/0)

DEFENDERS (11): DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo; 33/6), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City; 11/1), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin/GER; 3/0), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City/ENG; 20/2), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt/GER; 3/0), Omar Gonzalez (Pachuca/MEX; 14/0), Matt Hedges (FC Dallas; 0/0), Tim Ream (Fulham/ENG; 4/0), Jorge Villafaña (Santos Laguna/MEX; 2/0), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United/ENG; 6/0), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City; 17/3)

MIDFIELDERS (8): Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas; 2/0), Paul Arriola (Club Tijuana/MEX; 2/1), Alejandro Bedoya (Philadelphia Union; 8/0), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC/CAN; 33/6), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach/GER; 15/1), Dax McCarty (Chicago Fire; 0/0), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers; 5/0), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund/GER; 7/3)

FORWARDS (4): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC/CAN; 36/16), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC; 38/18), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders FC; 3/0), Bobby Wood (Hamburg/GER; 8/4)

I'd add that it's probably time to bail on the Guzan project. We have Rimando as an experienced keeper to back up Howard. Bring in another young guy to be there with Horvath.

Definitely agree with you all on Guzan. He's really regressed over the last couple years I feel like. He got embarrassed down the stretch for Middlesbrough, he took a pounding week after week it felt like. Confidence cannot be high right now.

And also agree that Rimando is next man up. I've always liked his game, he brings a different dynamic with his ball skills. Can really pass and hit the long ball, pretty good in goal as well.

    @raeComm

Multiple sources now reporting US international defender John Brooks moving from Hertha to Wolfsburg. 18 million Euro.

Interesting move. Hertha Berlin is playing in Europe next season, but Brooks never really found his way back in after being hurt and played limited minutes. Maybe the writing was on the wall that he wasn't going to start next year and being a big, quick defender on a team that was nearly relegated this year is a surer bet to a starting role.

Well the U-20s mercilesssly pounded New Zealand 6-0 in the Round of 16 this morning, setting up a quarterfinal match against Venezuela, which needed extra time to grab a 1-0 win against Japan.

Quarterfinal will take place in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Did anyone watch USMNT last night? Pulisic with a crafty equalizer.

Are we ready to ascend the Hex table?

I watched the entire match and indeed Pulisic goal was impressive but I don't know if I see a TEAM playing for the USA or just PLAYERS trying to impress some teams in Europe to make more money.

I have been watching and attending USMNT matches for quite a while now and I just don't seem to see the passion in playing for the USA, as in the past. Now the members of this team are much better players but they seem to play without heart. Now maybe just maybe it's just because it was a friendly but......
