We are witnessing the greatest era in the history of golf. There are more great players now than there has ever been at any one time in history and they are all young. For the next 15 years we are going to be watching this group win major after major.

Patrick Reed wins the Masters! What a great tournament! So many phenomenal moments. Everything went Reeds way today. How that ball stayed in the rough on 13 I have no idea, but it did and that was the difference in the tournament. What a great week of golf.

Golf clearly still needs Tiger. This was one of the best masters I can remember. It was some of the best and most popular golfers in the world contending on Sunday. This is such an amazing sport and nobody seemed to care once Tiger got out of contention.

Patrick made a lot of clutch putts in the tournament but the last two holes were double clutch. A 4 or 5 foot make for a par on 17 and what appeared to be about 3 1/2 foot putt to seal the win on the last hole. I mean, with that massive crowd staring down at him in silence and a huge TV audience as well, he finished the job. The kid darn sure has what it takes, as he had already proven in the last Ryder Cup.

I once needed a 3 foot putt to tie an opponent in a Ryder Cup format match between my home club and another club. Most the other matches were over and everyone was following our match and it was on the last hole. I got over my putt and I could feel everyone’s eyes glued on me. Needless to say I missed the putt, lost the match, and had to later change the grip of my putter because I had squeezed it so hard that it left my hand prints in it. That last part is hyperbole but the whole incident was embarrassing. Dr Choke I was. I was thinking about that putt today when Reed got over his last putt. He got the job done, though, and playing for a lot more than what I was that day. Lol.
