Great game, if you don't like defense. Both teams started rookie goalies, though Vegas' Malcomb Subban had 13 previous starts, this year. 32 year old rookie Jeff Glass was making only the 3rd NHL start of his career, for the Blackhawks.

You could tell, too. Vegas jumped out to a 3-1 lead midway through the 2nd period. Then Chicago scored 3, including one just 30 seconds into the 3rd, to go up 4-3. Then Vegas tallied 2 goals to win it.

As usual for Vegas, they simply outworked their opponent.

They out shot Chicago 43 to 30.Vegas also out hit and out blocked them, too. It wasn't close in any of those stats. The final goal was a break away that you cannot allow with rookie in net. Glass didn't stand a chance against Reilly Smith.

The GK’s just keep defying the odds. I keep waiting for a letdown but it’s not happening. This could be the #1 vs the #8 matchup in the first round of the playoffs. Should would’ve predicted that before the season started?
