2 Free Drop Billy (Robby Albarado; Dale Romans; 30-1)

3 Bravazo (Luis Saez; D. Wayne Lukas; 8-1)

4 Hofburg (Irad Ortiz; William I. Mott; 9-2)

5 Restoring Hope (Florent Geroux; Bob Baffert; 30-1)

6 Gronkowski (Jose Ortiz; Chad Brown; 12-1)

7 Tenfold (Ricardo Santana Jr.; Steven Asmussen; 12-1)

8 Vino Rosso (John R. Velazquez; Todd Pletcher; 8-1)

First of all, no he will not win the race IMO. Racing as much as he has in the last 3 or so months will take its toll.

I like Vino Rosso and Blended Citizen. Also give a chance to Hofburg.

Not a bit impressed with this field but I still think Justify gets beat.

A friend of mine and I were liking Blended Citizen, so that should eliminate that horse. LOL

Without question. I have not picked a Derby winner since Sunny's Halo I think, but have nailed the Belmont winner more than a few times.

And The handicappers on this thread missed how effortless Justify ran in the previous races. This was his best run yet.

It was weird in that he went off to that fast sub-24 first quarter, and after he slowed the pace, nobody seemed interested in making him work harder for it.

Very impressive nonetheless. Once he slowed down the pace and nobody bit for the lead, he had plenty of gas in the tank.

I said he didnt run full speed at the derby, but he had to run harder in the Preakness. I didnt think he would do it but he did, awesome thing to witness.

He won this easily. Mike Smith didn’t even ask him until they were on the stretch. Probably could have won by more if he really wanted.

Just read Justify May be retired...has recurring swelling in a front ankle.

That’s too bad, he’s a beautiful horse...but better than to risk a life threatening breakdown.
