HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky scored both of its runs in the first inning on Thursday night in the opener of a three-game set at UIC. Jerger and Rowland combined to retire nine-straight batters in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.
Both of UIC's hits against Rowland came in the eighth inning as the junior stranded runners on second and third in the final inning pitched.
