What was that Bengal display today?

Certainly that was a not a competitive NFL team that took the field against the vaunted 3 win Chicago Bears. What exactly did we see?
1). Did the Bengals team come unprepared after the short week?
2). Did the players quit on Marvin Lewis and his staff?
3). Was their effort dominated by a "season's over, let's play the string out" attitude?
4). Don't want to get injured precluding a contract renewal, so let's go through the motions and worry only about next season.
5). Were they outmanned everywhere as badly as they played?
6). Fans don't care, why should we?
7). We can't win with Andy, so why give 100%?

I guess this list kind of represents some of the things I believe that are happening within the Bengals team. Compound that losing mentality with the downward spiraling of the NFL product (health components, polarizing social/political issues invading and dominating our game, and the ever lengthening of game time that is plagued by an inordinate amount of ugly penalty-filled football) and you are seeing some longtime Bengal fans that are just getting tired of the kool-aid. What say you BGPreppers?

Pretty simple. It was a team that is ready for a change and new voice.

    Fixed that for you.

It's amazing, though, what a game and a half can do to change our outlook.

It doesn't need a complete makeover though. Needs a new coach, focus on the o line this off season and they can win starting next year. Imo they also need a new qb, but people don't want me saying that anymore lol.

Heard an interesting pre game stat today. The teams the Bears beat so far had a 25-12 record. The teams the Bengals had beaten are 12-42.

That's nothing new. Since Dalton has been the qb. The Bengals are great usually against teams with losing records, and suck against teams with winning records.

I hope they do the next 3 weeks. Get a top 5 pick to go with a new coach.

Would be the smart move. But it's the Bengals, so …

Maybe they'll come up with another gem like John Ross with that pick (or the other recent 1st rounders); although who knows what he is the way he was "used"? Problems are far deeper than Marvin, attitude & the "O" Line.

Unfortunately I can't see how it can change given the ownerships' total lack of interest in fielding a winning team? As much as I'd like to see Marvin go, they'd probably just replace him with one of the lame assistants & the beat will go on--Mediocracy in perpetuity!!

Disagree on the problems being much deeper than just Marvin and the o line. I also I have loved what i have seen so far in William Jackson as far as a cover corner. I think he is going to turn into a legit shut down corner. As for John Ross well we all have zero idea on him. Watching his highlights from college, it's easy to see why he was a first round pick. Him getting healthy and using him right is key.

Now as for who they hire. You are right they better not hire some assistant.
