I'm actually confused at what he has to do to just be suspended forever. The track record speaks for itself, and the play yesterday was an absolute joke to the game, even before all the focus on safety.

Dude had no remorse after yesterday's hit.

I find things like this fascinating. Players scream for more safety, the NFL comes down hard in the name of safety, and now you know the NFLPA will appeal this suspension.

Good, it is about time the NFL did something real with an out of control player.

The NFL can’t expect to be taken seriously when it comes to safety if they allow Burfict to continue playing in the league.

I can't believe that I used to wear the guy's jersey at Bengals games. That hit yesterday was beyond ridiculous. Shameful.

Continuing my thoughts on this. He always struck me as the guy that didn't care because he was THAT talented. He's going to learn the hard way (much like AB) that the league goes on just fine without you.

How far into his career did Burfict receive his first fine?

How far into his career when he received his first suspension?

Believe it or not his first suspension wasn't until the shot he took on AB in the wildcard game that him, Pacman, and Hill combined to blow for Cincy.

    No idea on a fine.

The NFL doesn't have the stones to ban him. Now will they tell teams behind the scenes they want them to stay away? Probably so.

I could be wrong, but isn't the only players who have screamed for safety. Players that are no longer playing and are retired? It seems like many of the current players hate some of the new rules that have been put in place for safety.

As for the hit, Burfict is playing in the wrong era. 20 years ago he is considered one of the best linebackers in the game and an enforcer. However, in today's game there isn't any room for this stuff. Especially when every camera is watching every move he makes or does.

The players have negotiated down to the point to where they seldom practice, are limited with contact, and play only a handful of snaps. All because of safety. Sure, some of the rules now are nuisances to the players, but they also want to have their cake and eat it too.

What happened to the Patroits player who led with their helmet and knocked out Josh Allen? My guess nothing.

I'm pretty sure all that was more negotatiated so they would have to do less work, rather than for safety. This way coaches couldn't over due it and make them do to much, rather than for safety reasons.
