As long as he stays the 3rd string quarterback barring a disaster from Leftwich or Gerard, I'm okay with it. Not that those two have led Jacksonville anywhere recently, but they are better than Tim Couch.

Congrats Tim. He can beat out those two, if as heathly and as strong as he says he is.

Congrats to the hometown (my home town) kid! Hopefully he can come in & contribute. Whether it be starting or backing up someone.

I thought Daunte Culpepper was going to end up in Jacksonville as the 3rd QB? Guess not.
I hope Tim makes the roster but he is in an uphill battle for sure.....

That's what I thought, I just wonder if Dante isn't as healthy as he is leading on. All it takes is one inury in camp and he will get signed right away.

I hope he does well and silences doubts — my own included — about his soundness and desire to play.

I'm not sure why anybody would have doubts about his "desire to play". The guy is already RICH. I'm sure it's about his desire to play the sport alot more than it is his desire to make more $ that he does not need.
- Jul 29, 07, 05:37 PM #9From what I've heard from ESPN, Culpepper wants a 1-year deal, and most teams are unwilling to give in.

Two good QB's that haven't gotten it done in the postseason. GREAT running game with an AWSOME defense at least up front. I would rather him be somewhere like Green Bay but at least he is going into a situation where there really isn't pressure on him. It might give him the chance to move along slow which could be a good thing. Great for him, my all time favorite UK guy.

I hope he can come out during training camp and fire on all cylinders. I know it's going to be tough but Tony Gywnn said that you have to work hard to get what you want, and he should be thinkin like that right now. Step one is complete (sign with a team) and now it's time to show them that you're going to get it done!

You are misreading my intent when I use the phrase "desire to play." It's not the actual desire to play the game itself that's the hindrance, but whether he has the desire to go through all the preparation and work involved in getting ready to play, and whether he has the desire to be away from his young family the amount of time necessary to put in that work.
