Page 2 of Remember this thread: http://bluegrasspreps.com/national-football-league/elway-tebow-pretty-233274.html Now the truth comes out: Tim Tebow stood before a mass of media members at his introductory press conference with the New York Jets and said that he’s glad to be in the Big Apple — and that the Jets were the team he wanted the Broncos to trade him to. Last week Tebow and Broncos boss John Elway differed in their accounts of how the trade from Denver to New York transpired, with... 38 comments | 563 Views | Go to page 1 →

I just read it and it doesn't change my opinion. I chalk it up to typical political correct speak. While they did ask his opinion on where he would like to play, he did not have a say.

Are you reading what I am reading:

Wednesday evening, Tebow’s opinion changed. He was going to have a better opportunity to start in New York and felt more wanted by the Jets organization

Oh, I am reading the same thing. Like I said before, he gave them his opinion then the Broncos made the decision. They, the Broncos, had all the power in the end to "choose" where he ended up.

I do not think that either side said anything that was incorrect.

I understand, we have to agree to disagree.

Bottom line, Tebow was under contract and truly was at the mercy of Denver management. I don't understand the hullabaloo about this. What did he say that was false? I read the whole shebang and read no dishonesty by anyone in any of it. I'm not a huge Tebow supporter at all, but it seems he draws an awful lot of ire and scrutiny that is unwarranted, IMO.

I think it is pretty clear doc, at first Tebow said he didn't have any (didn’t have any [say]” in his destination) say in his destination and the Broncos said they were letting Tebow choose which team he went to. First Tebow said do what is right for the Broncos and then he said the Jets were a better option for him. The Broncos traded him to the Jets and went on record saying the Jags were offering more but they traded Tebow to the Jets instead.

Seems to me the situation was dynamic. It changed as the process moved on.

You are right Doc, the situation changed as Tebow changed his mind thus he had input all along and no one disputes that except Tebow in the beginning.

In the end it will be shown that Tebow will "use" his NY platform to promote his religous ideals and there is nothing wrong with that. The Jets should be better than the Jags, but I predict this will be the career ending move in New York for Rex Ryan.

The Jets can move merchandise. Tebow can "promote" on the biggest of stages. The Jets will still be so-so. All the "buzzez" will wear off rather quickly.

Let's say that you wanted my input on how to improve BGP. It could be said that I "have a say" in how BGP is run.

But bottom line, you own the site & what you say, goes. So it could truthfully be said that I "don't have a say" in how BGP is run.

I'm not sure why this is concept is difficult.

It sounds to me like 2 parties trying to be gracious to the other.

Tim to the Broncos: Do what's best for you guys. I'll go wherever you think is best for your interests.

Broncos to Tim: We appreciate that. But you've been a great guy; where would you LIKE to go?

But Bluto your forgot Tim back to the Broncos: Tebow’s opinion changed. He was going to have a better opportunity to start in New York and felt more wanted by the Jets organization

And everyone, the issue isn't who had final say (we all know the Broncos had that) it is whether Tim Tebow had any input in the decision. At first Tebow said he didn't but after the fact he said he did (and that is what Elway said all along).

I am not sure why that concept is difficult.

Not sure what Tim was thinking, but imagine anyone being told you are no longer being needed here and are gonna move to another location in the US. You still get your salary but bein uprooted after doing well has to bother your head some.

Noel Mazzone Offensive Cordinator for UCLA worked with Tim a few weeks in February and said when Tim first heard of Peyton coming to Denver he had nothing but nice comments about the whole situation.

Back in 1986 CSX Railraod closed the South Louisville Shops, we were given several choices, Huntington WVA/Corbin Kentucky/Waycross Georgia. A buyout of one year salary. So I actually went thru this. We got to keep our salary. I had choices of the three cities. I asked for a buyout.

Sometimes its nice to have a least a say so where you will live.

He didn't have any say in the decision. They asked him his opinion, and he gave it. That doesn't mean he made any type of decision. No one is lying and those who say he is are grasping at straws to paint Tebow in a negative light.

So you are back to Elway is a liar even though Tebow's admissions now mirror what Elway has said all along?

We can agree to disagree on our take on the situation.
