Steelers business practices
Sometimes I must admit, I have to look at the pudding before I can see the proof if that makes sense. The recent Wallace holdout/no show has taken a funny turn. They always hold to the tenets that have made their business stances time proven. Wallace negotiations were going swimmingly according to both sides and Wallace's agent even went as far to admit that he no longer had Mike's "ear" when the negotiations were near a finish. The Steelers expected Wallace to show up at camp, he didn't and the negotiations are now done. He's currently not employed by them. And the cynic in me thinks Mike will be an idiot and not show til week 11 when he has to sign the tender (prorated of course) so that he will be unrestricted following this season. However, in the interim, and much to my pleasure and spite of Mike Wallace, they signed #2 receiver Antonio Brown today for a nice chunk of change, 5yr. 42Mil+.
I understand the threat and production Wallace brings, and fear he won't be on the field and will leave a huge void in the offense. However, I felt the same with when Santonio Holmes left and Plax left. Seems things worked out great without them. Rooneys don't like being held over a ledge. Love it.

I suppose the Steelers can trade him at anytime or no?
As a Bengal fan I love this news, keep Wallace off the field as long as possible!

I have no idea. I have read several outlets who think he'll sign soon. I don't have that feeling at all.

Can the Steelers franchise Wallace next off season? His tender this year is a restricted FA tender of $2.7 million. He could report in week 11 and still get franchised next season, no? Smart business move by the Steelers, but it stinks if you're Mike Wallace. Rumor is he turned down $50 million over five years.
I can't see this ending in anything but a trade unless the Steelers are willing to pay $100 million over the next five years for two wideouts.

Brown had 2 receiving TD's last year is that correct?

The price for wide receivers keeps going up.
Larry Fitzgerald got 8 years for up to $120 million
Megatron got 8 years up to $132 million
Vincent Jackson just got 5 years $55 million
Antonio Brown, who has had one good season got 5 years $42 million.
I just read an article that says Wallace wants a deal similar to Jacksons. I'm curious to see what guys like Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz get.

8.4 million dollar payday per year, I think Brown did very well.
