Defensively, New England doesn’t scare me, and the Eagles just scorched what many felt was the best defense in the NFL. And the Eagles have been very good defensively all year. I know it’s going to be a tough mountain to climb, but this Eagles team just feels different and has a certain energy surrounding it. I know I’m viewing this through my Eagles glasses, but I think they can pull this off.
The Eagles defense gave up 295 points during the regular season. The Patriots gave up 296. They aren't flashy like some of the other teams, but the Pats defense is the most overlooked unit in the sport. They just flat out keep you out of the endzone.

Just like yesterday's game, this boils down to one thing....Does anyone really believe Nick Foles can/will outduel the GOAT? I know I sure don't.

I'll go with New England 27-17.

The Pats first four weeks were as dreadful as they come on defense. Like, historically bad. Since then one could argue they've had the best defense in football. All four teams that played yesterday finished in the top five scoring defenses in the league.

I really don't think the score will be all the close. New England will win.

Yep, but not a soul gives Patricia's unit the respect the other ones get. I think the early season stuff was them dealing with working in a handful of new guys and also learning how to play without the defensive leader, Ninkovich.

Man, I really don't get why people talk smack about Brady and the Patriots....You'd think teams would learn to keep their mouths shut, but we've already got Eagles RT Lane Johnson calling Brady a "pretty boy".

I hope the Patriots drop 80 on the Eagles.

NOW Brady will play great This is the Superbowl. If Lane Johnson saying Brady is a "pretty boy" is the difference between Brady delivering the goods or not, then he would not be made of the stuff that we know he is already made of. I do not get into any of these soundbites making any difference.

I am a long time Pats fan after living 10 years two exits from Foxboro off I-495, but I really like the Eagles too, and I think they will give the Pats a contest.

Regardless, I believe a former University of Memphis placekicker will play a part in the outcome.

I'm with you on that. While I don't like teams, trash talking before games, game plans, execution, and personnel mean more to the outcome of a game than the a team getting fired up because some jackwagon on the other team said something. Especially with a veteran, disciplined team like the Patriots.

I saw a lot worse being said on barstool this morning by an eagles player NSFW. I don't know what these guys are thinking.

These guys are pros, sound bites don't make a lick of difference in the final result. It does give the opponent fodder if you don't back it up and that's always fun.

You honestly think Lane Johnson opening his mouth is going to be worth points on the board? Brady is the best ever, but he doesn't need a reason to come out and do his thing. It undercuts his greatness in a weird way.

Brady once laughed at the notion of the NY Giants saying they would hold the Patriots to 17 points in the Superbowl. They held him to 14. Was it because they talked? No. Was it because Brady mockingly responded? No. It was because they were able to pressure Brady (and Eli throwing up a prayer that I still can't wrap my head around).

Exactly. If anything it puts more pressure on those making the statements.
