My prediction ... point of emphasis next year will be how to call handfighting between WR and DB. I see DB's consistently grabbing and holding the arms of WR, pushing on the WR and no call.

Lack of effort obvious to Lapham too, not just me!!

Huber boomed that punt, 39 instead of 35!!

How much talent you have has NOTHING to do with your effort, never has, any coach will tell you that, don't confuse the 2.

Not a good performance by Dalton in that first half. Although I think that throw to AJ in the corner of the end zone was Dalton trying to take advantage of a free play on the offsides.

Offensive line actually held up well despite two new starters and Boling moving to OT.

Defense - light years better with the starters back on the field.

Unfortunately, it is halftime and we all know what happens in the second half of Bengals games.

Lack of effort was more noted in second half by Lap in the games mentioned and not At the start of games like mentioned on here.

That was our point. Which is poor execution can a lot of times be confused as just a lack of effort. No doubt second half in those games after games got out of hand that effort sucked.

Imo no way Dalton knew he had a free play. It wasn't like a guy jumped into the neutral zone. The guy lined up in a 3 point stance with his helmet barely being in the neutral zone. If he somehow saw that and assumed the refs would call that while doing all his other pre snap reads. Then props to him lol.

My point is - very, very often when a team is getting their butt kicked, people get lazy (including announcers) and scream the team is flat or there is lack of effort. Usually when a team is getting their butt kicked, it is because the other team is better than them. That was the case the last two weeks for the Bengals defense. All the effort in the world would not have made a difference because those teams had no chance of winning.

The only lack of effort I saw was two weeks ago against the Bears in the fourth quarter when the game got out of hand. I do think the team had lack of effort in that Bears game.

Agree on this. Yet now because the defense decided to get a pick that led to those 3 points. There is no chance Lewis makes a change at halftime, even though it probably wouldnt have happened anyways.

Maybe so. Or maybe he saw a yellow flag flying through the air as he dropped back. Regardless, not worth making a fuss over. Throw that play out and Dalton still had a bad half. Overthrew Kroft on a possible TD. Terrible decision and throw on the INT and the other almost INT. He made nothing happen in that half for the Bengals.
