"He's a TV guy; he'll never consider leaving the booth." - Folks who underestimated the size of the truck being backed up to his house.

Are expectations what that franchise needs right now?

The Raiders are all in on this deal. Gruden really had no choice but to take this job.

He should've asked for more from Oakland. He didn't get much of a raise

I didn't dig deep enough to find out what he made this past year, but as of 2015, he was ESPN's highest paid guy, making $6.5 million/year.

Wasn't Oakland offering him ownership stake in the team as well?

    That was only rumor.

Any ownership change requires approval from the other owners.

Golic and Wingo asked him that the other day and said that was not true.

And ESPN has been making cuts left and right all year long. Not saying Gruden was on the chopping block, but you never know. He may have just saved a few jobs for other folks at ESPN though.

Maybe not if ESPN decides to go after a Peyton Manning for replacement. He would be a good get for MNF IMO...and wont come cheap I am sure..
