Cowboys draft Ezekiel Elliott, Get a grade D for it.

Page 3 of I think its a good solid pick. Do they have other needs, yes, but so do a lot of other teams. IMO they get a bad grade because its just the Cowboys. Ez... 52 comments | 2985 Views | Go to page 1 →

While I agree, I never put too much stock in any pre-season performance. I'm not a fan of the guy yet, but I hope he makes me one this year!

I'm ticked that I prob won't be able to get him in the late second round.

I rescind everything I said about Elliott. He has been the man so far this season.

I think it boosted his career that I picked him in fantasy football so I'm taking full credit.

To be fair many runningback would look great behind that line. However what he does fits perfectly in this system.

And to think some on here said I should be fired, when I picked Zeke in the BGP Draft.

I drafted him and Carlos Hyde in fantasy football (two teams!). You have any idea how hard it was to do that? :lo2l:

Hyde was good and has been a solid NFL back but watching Zeke run in person for 2 years, live in the shoe, felt like you were watching a LaDainian Tomlinson like talent. Hyde is not on Elliott's level.

I have really enjoyed going back and re-reading some of these doubting comments.
Yo all know just as much about drafting a guy as the experts who gave this a D.

I can remember when the pick was supposed to be so bad because they passed on Jalen Ramsey, CB from Fla St.

He was 5th pick for Jacksonville and has 1 INT

Im thinking Elliot has done more for the Cowboys than Ramsey for the Jags.

Zeke has probably done more, but that is in large part because of the amazing offensive line in front of him. He's a stud though and was definitely worth the high pick.

As for the number of interceptions that Ramsey has, I don't think they throw is way all that often. @GrizzlyAdams could probably spout off some stats, but I think Ramsey has been a solid member of their improved defense.

By next year Ramsey will be a top 5 corner. Yesterday he was PFF number 2 player in the league. He has defended every single number 1 WR the Jags have played against and done it very well. Rookie CB has gone against Randall Cobb, Steve Smith Sr, TY Hilton, Amari Cooper, Nuk x2. I could keep going but I wont. Jaguars are awful but have a top 5 pass defense and he is the main reason. Kid will be a star in this league.

It's not a perfect video but you will see him make a tackle at the 6 second mark that I have seen very very corners ever make, preventing Hopkins from reaching the first down. Link

Wow, I think I'll spend the rest of the day revisiting old threads where I was right in hindsight.

Crazy thing is, he picked maybe the 2nd best player from the draft to pick on

Top Cowboys draft Ezekiel Elliott, Get a grade D for it.
