    Browns/Bengals Updates

Kicking in less than 15 minutes from PBS. A game the Bengals must have (like most of the rest of them) to still have a shot at the playoffs. Go Bengals!!

John Ross Inactive yet again. What a wasted draft pick. What was the last year Bengals got production the first year out of their first round draft pick?

It has to be one of two things:

    1. Marvin had the Ross pick forced on him.

    2. Ross is not working as hard as he should.

This is the first Bengals home game I have missed in over a decade.

It only took 2 plays for the Browns to get a longer run than they did all last week vs. the Jaguars. The Bengals rank 27th on the league in run defense.

Burfict literally can't do anything. His hit was within 5 yards. Something linebackers do even in high school but Yet they flagged him.

Agree!! Run defense CONTINUES to be unbeleveably bad, even against teams that can't run it!!! This goes hand in hand with the bad offense in why TOP has been running 2-1 for a while!!

Terrible personal foul call on Burfict no other player gets that call on them only 3 yards off the line of scrimmage.

Cleveland helped us out. That was a horrible first possession on defense.

I would like to see the play again and when the hit happened. QB rolled right and ran. WR was running a drag route to the left, opposite side of the field. If Burfict hit him after Kizer had tucked and started running, nothing but a cheap shot and totally unnecessary.

It's a perfectly legal play as long as it's not a dead ball.

That's where stats are a little misleading. The Bengals are 27th in total rush yards given up. However that is a direct effect of our offense being horrible and part of the reason the defense is always on the field. Plus with teams usually leading because of our offense being horrible teams run it more.

The Bengals actually for the year only give up 3.9 yards per rush. Which is 11th best in the NFL. The problem is teams are second to last in the NFL in the amount of rush attempts team get on them in a game. Teams average 31 rushes a game against them. That's the second most in the NFL. So they usually do a good job at stopping most rushes, but they just add up with the defense always on the field when trailing.

With that said the rush defense dis get gashed that drive. Wow!

Here is also a problem with that though. The linebacker sees a wr trying to cross his face. So a linebacker is going to come up and hit them, they might not see the qb rolling out the other way. Plus that would have been the slowest drag route in the history of drag routes if he was still running his route by the time Kizer decided to run it lol.
