Bengals training camp
With training camp underway and several of the practices being held at Paul Brown Stadium is any one planning on going? There is a mock game Sunday at 6 pm I'm thinking about heading up with a few of the guys to check it out.
Also has any one been already this week?

I went the day when they were in full pads and hit for the first time, and did the oklahoma drill to start off. It was really neat being basically right next to the players for it. Then seeing all the different drills they do, and watching the 7 on 7 then when they went team. Definitely enjoyed it. Paid 5 dollars to park which was nothing since we get in for free.

Yea between craving football and it being free to get in I can't pass on Sunday's mock game and may go a couple more times the next two weeks.

Don't you think the intrasquad scrimmage today is much better to go to than the mock game?

I did go, hard to tell because it was a half scrimmage if you know what I mean. But I will say this, Dalton looked very accurate!

Good to know! I know I was excited seeing how accurate he was on his deep throws the day I was there when they went team.

I stopped down for about an hour today. It's not set up well for fans IMO.
Picture two football fields side by side. Stands on one side of Field 1 - across to the other sideline then field 2 starts and goes across to the other sideline. When the Bengals went 11-on-11 they were in the far back corner of the far field essentially about 80 to 100 yards away from the only place fans can be.

I'm thinking that will change with time but I knew it would be kind of like that from the get go. I really do like the fact that it's in Cinci now. I had some great times getting all of the guys together and heading to Georgetown to watch camp but it's really nice being able to take a 20 minute drive to Paul Brown rather than a 45-50 minute drive south.

Agreed on the convenience. However, if it's 80 yards away....

Ha I feel ya man, I'm just saying it's a work in progress. I think they will improve things over time.

As you said there are two football field side by side. The spot that they have the stands in is basically the only spot that they can have stands at. There really is no other way to go about doing it, those fields when made were not set up for them to have a training camp for fans to come. I know the day I went the majority of the work was on the field right in front of the stands, the oklahoma drills, the 7 on 7 and when they went team. However they can't always do the majority of the work on just that one field, otherwise it will do nothing but just tear that field up. They have to also work on the back field too, to try to save some wear and tear on the field. I know Marvin Lewis even mentioned that about a week ago, how they will have to do that.
So yeah the days when they do most of the work on the far field it is not as good for the fans. However if you think about the layout, there really isnt much they can do to improve it IMO. I know I enjoyed it last week, and will be back tomorrow.

If you want to see being a NFL fan personified go to training camp. EVERY play indicates future greatness for the home team.
I was standing near the sideline while AJ Green was running routes. No D. Ran a 7-yd out at about half-speed and caught the ball as you would expect. The two guys next two me both said "AJ REALLY looks good ."

They are probably slow enough themselves that it looked full speed to them.

Just watched practice today. Dalton to Green looked very good. Binns almost caught a deep ball. Collions got some work at LG today.
