I want him as a DC not a Head Coach.

Here is a thought that came to mind. If the Bengals wait till they are the only job left, they get more leverage over the coach on his salary.

    According to Fox19's Jeremy Rauch....

According to that source, the Bengals are leaning towards hiring a coach with an offensive background, who did not spend the 2018 season on the Bengals coaching staff - special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons, offensive coordinator Bill Lazor and special assistant to the head coach Hue Jackson.

The source told FOX19 Now the Bengals have already narrowed in on their target, in their opinion.

I have to think if the Bengals were looking to hire Hue or Joseph it would've happened by now.

The delay makes me think it's either Taylor or Bieniemy that they've settled on.

On a related note, Joseph is in Arizona interviewing for the DC job.

I believe they are going with Eric Bienemy.

The info I am hearing plus what UKMF has posted above points toward Bienemy. It is likely a coach who is still coaching or they would go ahead and announce it. They wouldn't release coaches unless they know who is coming in. The fact that Bienemy is a former Bengal adds toward me thinking that's who they are hiring.

Yeah. Out of the guys they interviewed, he was the one I liked second best. I liked Todd Monken more, but I am still excited to see them get Bienemy. Now I want to see what staff he puts together.

First thing he needs to do is hire scouts.
