I don't mind it. The Bengals are building depth, and that's needed because they have 26 players slated to become free agents after this season. If the Bengals lose Whit & Andre, presumably they will have these two tackles to step in & take over the starting roles.

They drafted a linebacker that is getting a lot of praise for the way he plays, a DB that was one of the strongest DB's at the combine and is versatile enough to play both CB & S, and a DT. It's a bit unusual, but I think they're taking the best players available (according to their own board), which is hard to argue with. They seem to have addressed most, if not all, of the positions through the draft & are building quality depth starting with the line. I can't complain about that.

Bengals drafted 2 really good tackles that are very athletic unlike Smith, 2 quality TEs that are good all around, a stud LB, a decent sized DT and a kid who can play CB/FS. Solid draft B+.

They have missed more than hit in the first 3 rounds the last several years yet some still think they've drafted great. Time will tell but this one doesn't look to be stellar.
The last two drafts they got Eifert and Gio first two rounds and then last draft Denard and Hill. So the only round you could say they may have missed on the last two years has been the third in Hunt and Clark who have talent but raw.

Now this years draft the the first round pick wasn't sexy but was solid. The third round they got a te who can catch and block and I think that linebacker will be very good. Now the second round pick puzzled me because since they took a tackle who probably won't play this year. I'm not sure why they would have taken another tackle who won't play this year. So basically the first two rounds produced two guys who won't a lick this year. So the second round pick is the one I really question. If that DT from Oklahoma didn't get picked the pick before in the second round then I think they would have picked him and I would say it has been a solid draft. However I can't say right now it has been to great of a draft yet either. Only that linebacker is the only one who may help this year. So this definitely was not a sexy draft by the Bengals but hopefully after a few years it will be solid. But overall I am a little disappointed mainly because of the second round pick.

I hear you, but both linemen have the ability to play tackle or guard. Both current tackles (Whitworth & Andre Smith) are FA's after this season. Isn't AJ Green a FA as well? This might allow them some payroll flexibility.

The first tackle they drafted they say would have been a top ten tackle if healthy. So the first tackle I wouldn't complain about. The second tackle was the one that's confusing.
