Alliance of American Football
If your fix for football is not fulfilled after the Super Bowl, the AAF starts play on February 9. They held their draft last Wednesday. Some interesting rules regarding the draft and play on the field.
The Alliance consist of 8 franchises...
San Diego Fleet
Birmingham Iron
Arizona Hotshots
Orlando Apollos
Atlanta Legends
Salt Lake Stallions
Memphis Express
San Antonio Commanders
Interesting head coaches, too, like Steve Spurrier of the Orlando Apollos.
CBS will televise one game a week, during the 10 week season, as well as the playoffs and championship game.

Dec 3, 18, 11:09 PM #2It looks like this league is poised to be the NFL's version of the G-League. The season is only 10 weeks, which works right into the OTA schedule for many NFL teams. There are discussions about allowing backups who haven't cracked the starting lineup in the NFL to play in this league. Every AAF contract has an instant opt-out if the they end up getting a chance at the NFL.

Dec 5, 18, 09:58 AM #3The uniforms for the teams look pretty sweet - especially Arizona and San Diego.

Dec 5, 18, 05:05 PM #4Interesting rule changes. No kickoffs. 30 second clock. An alternative for the on side kick, which I find intriguing. The scoring team can opt to take the ball on their own 35 4th down and 10. Opens up a whole new can of worms.

Feb 9, 19, 09:05 PM #14Some things that I'm liking so far...
Shorter commercial breaks
Shorter play clock
Hearing the replay official explain what he saw to the referee
I'm not sure what exactly it was, but there was some audio issues there for awhile. Don't know if it was because they've got so many mics live or if someone had a short. But, it seems like it's been better the past couple of minutes.
