    Alex Smith's Career in Jeopardy?

Rumors swirling around on Twitter right now that Smith has had complications from the surgery on his broken leg, stemming from post-op infections and his future is in serious jeopardy.

Hoping the rumors prove to be false, but this would be devastating news if true.

Saw that on Twitter. Crazy. Hopefully he can recover fully.

More on #Redskins QB Alex Smith: He’s had several procedures, sources say, and @mikegarafolo adds they are removing tissue to clear the infection. Smith still approaches this with optimism about playing. Note: His hospital room was next to Colt McCoy’s during McCoy’s 1-night stay

I think his career was in jeopardy the minute the injury happened. Hearing it described as "Theisman like", and at his age, it was going to be tough even without complications.

Man, I hope not. How awful would that be? Always want to see someone be able to walk away on their own terms.

At this point, just hope he doesn’t lose his leg.

As a Chiefs fan I will always have a place for Alex Smith. Him and Andy Reid helped turn the franchise around from where it was. He won a lot of games in KC and back to back division titles. I was rooting hard for him in Washington. I hope this isnt how his career ends.
