The guy is a play away from another injury.

My guess is the same reason why no other team has signed him. Teams don't view him as being that good anymore. Or Crabtree views himself as being worth more than what he is, and wants to much money for a team to sign him to be at best a number 3 WR.

No argument there, that is very true. I was just pointing out he may not be out for a few weeks like you mentioned.

Now AJ will miss multiple regular season games after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament.

It went from day to day, walking to the cart, to ankle sprain, to missing 6-8 weeks and one season game, to surgery. He will miss half a year and the Bengals season is over before they play a game.

I wonder if AJ may have played his last game as a Bengal this is the final year of his contract. Would he want to come back to Cincy or would the Bengals pay him the going rate for a top receiver? So could the Bengals try and trade AJ to get some younger talent or draft picks?

Big trades of veteran players just don't happen all that often, especially ones coming off of an injury in the last year of their contract for a half season of play. With Green in the last year of his contract, the Bengals have zero leverage.

Turns out, ESPN reports, that the injury was the dreaded high ankle sprain requiring surgery to tighted the ligaments that hold the two leg bones together at the ankle. Stability is the critical role the ligament plays and the stress of wide receiver cuts is pretty intense on it. Recovery time is an individual thing, but the surgery will certainly improve things longterm. This injury does explain why he could want straight ahead to the cart (no lateral strain).

It was in Dayton, Ohio because the Bengals are trying to keep their fans in that city.
Mike Brown knows that if Cleveland begins to win again Cinci will lose their fans from everywhere in Ohio except the extreme south west corner of the state.

Nope. They were in Dayton because the NFL is celebrating 100 years, by honoring the first 14 cities to host football. Which Dayton is one of them, and is the reason why the NFL wanted the Bengals there to celebrate that.

Ha that's ok. That's why I said it in the original post, because it seemed like others were wondering why they even practiced there.
