Tackles were going like hotcakes. I think the Bengals did ok with the pick. Get him in the weight room and healthy. If the Bengals felt they needed an OT, they had to make this pick. I will take his potential over Humphries, who was the other option at OT when the Bengals picked.

Well it wasn't the sexy pick people wanted. I to like others was wanting one of those defensive players that had fell and was available. I don't hate the pick and they say he probably would have been a top 10 pick if he didn't get hurt. So it could turn out being a great pick. However he better turn out to be good or else we will have a constant reminder of what we missed out on with Bud Dupree who I think went to the perfect place for himself.

I feel the same way. I also hate that they are comparing him to Russell Wilson. Setting him up for failure.

No kidding. I wonder what they'd do if Randy Gregory was available in the 2nd when they pick. He's not, but it would be a challenge to their best player available mantra

This is what Farmer said after the 1st round:

"No, no, no,'' Farmer said. "Again, I've tried to tell people without telling them specifically, but the answer is no. There were no conversations of trading.''

Coach Mike Pettine chimed in, "I didn't either.''

So for all the speculation, reports and rumors that the Browns might move up to pursue Marcus Mariota, it proved to be much ado about nothing.

Farmer went on to say he was content to "hold his water knowing what was going to come his way."

Everything is smoke screen leading up to the draft making sports journalists go crazy and report every little rumor they hear so they can say afterward, "I had it right." To be honest, they don't know much more than we do. We hear from them, and they heard from someone else who your team may pick. The original source may have no inside information at all and everyone is repeating an unfounded rumor. The journalists are a little further up the chain than we, that's all.

The Bengals should draft Perryman LB from Miami in the second round.

Really like the Malcolm Brown pick. Didn't know too much about him, but after the pick and doing a little digging I think he's going to be a good one to replace Wilfork with.

^ that's a good pick for the Pats. If Shelton was gone at #12 I believe the Browns would have taken Malcolm Brown there or at #19 .

^I'm pleased....Hoping they can get Coleman or Smith in the 2nd, but that may be a bit of wishful thinking on my part.

Hobson said today that the Bengals didn't pick Dupree because he has not played a lot of snaps with his hand on the ground. They would have played him at DE, not LB. He was a better ft for a 3-4. They had Ogbeheu rated very high. That is obvious, though.

The Bengals don't rush with LB's much. They use primarily their front 4. They ask their LB's to stop the run and cover, not rush in their base stuff.

Shows you what he knows he was DE and OLB at UK.

I think his point was that most of his snaps were without his hand on the ground. I am not sure they didn't like him, but he wasn't as much of a fit as they wanted.

The Bengals have at least 5 picks in the next 3 rounds hopefully they do a better job.

The Bengals pick was a great pick. He would've been a top 10 pick had he not torn his ACL IMO.

I wanted Dupree, but that was more because he went to UK, and not because he was a good fit.

I think Ogbuehi will be the better player in the long run.
