I read about the Ginobili trade rumors. Apparently they involve the Wizards and the 5th pick of the draft.

I don't know if I'd give up Ginobili for the 5th pick in this draft.

I don't think the Spurs will.

Based on what I read, they asked what it would take to get the 5th pick, and the Wizards responded with "Ginobili". The talks apparently ended there .

Ariza would be a great fit for the Spurs.

I agree with the Spurs needing to go young. They are way to old to keep up with the teams in the West.

In the locker room Odom and Ariza sat next to each other and said they liked the smell of champagne, wanted to come back together next year.

It will be a small miracle if the Lakers can keep both these guy IMO.

Which they'll still end up doing....I say Ariza will be back but I doubt Odom will.

Well I was going to post that, my thinking is that if Ariza decides not to come back it's because he's a rising player and wants more of a role than what the Lakers can offer, with having Kobe as option #1, #2, #3.

Ariza would be a great fit for the Spurs, but I think the Lakers will attempt to lock him up this year, even if that means letting Odom go. It should be interesting to see how much money Odom gets and where he ends up.

I've heard that Mark Cuban, in his infinite wisdom, is going hard for the Wizards' fifth pick in the draft and is offering either Josh Howard or Jason Terry. If that's the truth and I'm the Wizards, I take Josh Howard and laugh all the way to the playoffs next season. I also read on ESPN that the Celtics are looking at Amare Stoudemire, but that the deal won't be possible unless Rondo is involved, if that's the case, should the Celtics do it? I'm up in the air on that one, Kevin Garnett and Amare Stoudemire in the same front court would be an absloute terror to watch, but who runs the point? Do they go get someone like Rafer Alston?

Why in the world would the Suns do that unless they are trading Nash too.

You don't pass up an opportunity to make your team a champion. Plain and simple. And, giving him a legitimate sidekick, would probably help a lot in keeping Lebron, which has to be their top priority.
There are other players they can add, and yes if I were the owner and I let a guy out of a contract b/c we agreed on a deal I would not bring him in unless James said make it happen. I would look elsewhere. The best player they could bring in is Ariza IMO. The second best is Odom. It takes away a huge peice from the best team in the West and makes them the best team in the East.

You better make all the money you can because your property to NBA owners.

Also, the Cavs are under new ownership sense then. If LeBron is cool with it, the rest of Cleveland will be too.
He was under contract and they only let him out of it b/c he aggreed to terms on a new contract. Sorry, but I don't see the Cavs doing him wrong there. If you say they could have matched I would agree. In no way did they do him wrong though.

Marbury? Did Boston and Marbury hit it off well enough in his stint last season for them to give him a shot?

I doubt it, but you never know. Stranger things have happened.

Telling someone they are only worth 24 million when they can get 60 is lying. Cavs low balled them because Gordan Gund was a tightwad. NBA players have to get market value, he actually went to a better team at the time, are you going to turn down 36 million dollars?

Suns missed there window. Amare has pretty much stated he's gone in 2010. He has publically lobbied for either the Knicks or Wizards to get him, saying that he was better than Chris Bosh.

Suns just may need to tear it down and rebuild. Get value out of Stoudemire, lose Shaq, Richardson and a Hill's contracts and get some youth.

They could have forced him to play 1 more year under his current contract for less than $1M. I'm not disputing that he could have had more. It's similar to what they do in baseball by buying you out of your first few years of free agency by paying you more up front while you are under the teams control. No matter what he had a deal in place so they let him out of his current contract, and he bolted. It was a smart but dirty move. I'd do what he did too once the money was offered. Doesn't make it right. My whole point is they may feel betrayed and not go after him. Not that he shouldn't have taken the money.

I'd say 2 Eastern conference finals appearances plus playing for an NBA title is better than anything the Jazz have done in that time. I'd also guess the Jazz aren't happy that they overpaid him as much as they did.

    Marbury is garbage.
