I'm not suggesting he has any chance of winning MVP, but Joel Embiid is clearly making a difference in Philly and, barring injury, is locked in to the ROY just ahead of Ulis.

Russ won't be starting in the All-Star game despite being on track to become the first player since 1962 (Oscar Robertson) to average a triple-double in a single season.

OKC clinched a playoff berth as Russ goes for 57 in a triple double. Orlando with the "MVP" cheers while he's at the line. I've shifted my thinking and believe he's the only player in the league doing more for his team ON the court than LeBron.

If Russ doesn't win it, and all indications are that Harden will, it'll be a total screw job. The guy is a one man team.

Disagree. I'm an NBA junkie and Westbrook is impressive, he without a doubt padding stats at times in the 2nd half of the season. Historically speaking team performance has always mattered. Harden is also the only superstar on his team.

If I had to vote it would be Harden then Westbrook.

Sure his stats are padded at times but Westbrook is also the only superstar in OKC. The supporting casts are not even close. The per 100 possessions stat is crazy, Westbrook is 45/15/15.

I've only seen one instance of where I felt he was padding his stats and that was his triple double against Golden State when he was on the floor in the 4th quarter of a game that was over at halftime. Other than that he has gotten his numbers honestly. I do think his teammates let him grab up rebounds they could have but with his athleticism and explosiveness it is probably best to get out of the way when you see him coming.

Harden's cast is way way better than Russ' and since Lou Williams joined the team the Rockets have gotten even stronger.

I don't think it will be a total screw job if Russ doesn't get it but he has my vote. Harden is the only person I would even consider over Russ and he still wouldn't get my vote over Russ.

John Wall deserves to be mentioned in the MVP race. I'd have him at #4 behind Russ, Harden and Steph in that order.

Also, with the way the game is now it seems hard for someone other than a PG to win MVP. Even guys like Lebron who isn't a true PG still dominates the ball and usage percentage. I'd imagine that 6-8 of the top 10 choices for MVP are PGs.

I'm convinced that Russ will win MVP now. The media love for him is overwhelming st this point. I think he wins it. As he should.

I think a decent case can be made for Harden.

I agree. I think he finishes #2. The media seems to be pushing really hard here for Russ in the last week or two.

It's between Russ and Harden, it's unfortunate that Hardens best season crossed paths with the first triple double season in 50+ years.
