Jorts Released
Houston released Josh Harrelson, any guesses on where he ends up?

He told us in Maysville the other day that his agent is working with 6-7 teams already.

I'm sure he can land somewhere. Honestly Houston was terrible situation for him anyway.

Way to many forwards in Houston. He'll find a home. I'm hoping on a team I enjoy watching.

I think being able to show his outside shooting abilty for D'Antoni last season will help him find a fit in this league. Jorts didn't really get to show much other than his work ethic and tenasity on the boards at UK, last season for the Knicks he got to display a side of his game many coaches and GM's I'm sure never realized existed. A big nasty who can come off the bench and pull boards and hit the outside shot at 6'10'' will find a home, especially with that kind of work ethic and passion.
Wish him nothing but the best. (Would have never dreamed in a million years I would be posting in the NBA forum with a post of reasons why NBA teams should have Jorts on their radar. Would have never ever believed that 3 years ago, amazing.)

The Calipari Effect which he dubs the Kentucky Effect.

I could see the Knicks bringing him back for the right price.

Part of the new CBA say's that if a team waives a player they cannot resign him for a year.

Did the Knicks waive him or trade him?

Traded. That's why he was with the Rockets.

Ok, post above said if they were waived by a team they couldn't resign. Wording was a little confusing.

Yeah sorry about that. Basically its a part in the new agreement that says that if a team trades a player and the team they trade them to waives the player, they cannot be signed by that team for a year. Kind of like what happened while Lebron was in Cleveland and they traded big Z, but he was waived and had to wait so many days, then rejoined the Cavs. Can't do that now.

Thanks. Don't really care for that rule. A year is too long. Never know what a team might want. Plus a player can't control if they are waived. Should be able to sign wherever they want.
