It sucks for SGA who got traded to the Thunder in the dea for George. SGA had a really good rookie year. I hope this doesn't hurt his development, and how much he plays. Since he is a pg and so is Westbrook.

Guessing Westbrook won't be there much longer. With the haul OKC got perfect time to blow it up.

Those picks should all be late-1sts with the exception of the ‘21 pick from Miami. Not that you can’t find value there, but they might be more valuable as trade assets.

Jimmy Butler comes immediately to mind, though I’m not sure how quickly he can be traded.

I didn't see the picks but I thought they got 4 firsts over 8 years plus a couple pick swaps.

    Here’s the haul:

    Clippers-OKC Trade Details- CBS Sports

    Thunder receive SGA, Danilo Gallinari,

    four unprotected 1st-round picks: ‘22, ‘24, ‘26, and ‘21(MIA),

    lottery-protected pick from MIA,

    pick-swapping rights with LAC in ‘23 & ‘25.

Iím not so sure about the Thunder was the #6 seed in the West last season just 1 game ahead of the Spurs and the Clippers. Which both of them will be better than the Thunder if they stay pat. Also the Lakers will be much better. So there is a good chance they donít even make the playoffs which could throw them in the lottery which would guarantee them no worse than the #14 pick in the first round. I think the Thunder will have a hard time putting Westbooks contract (not sure when it expires) on another team.

The picks, aside from the two Heat picks will be based on where the Clippers finish, not OKC. If I’m misreading confusion, I apologize.

Like I said, the Heat pick in ‘21 has a decent possibility of being a lottery pick, depending on how much faith one has in Jimmy Buckets.

Other than that, Kawhi’s contract is up in the summer of ‘23, which adds potential value to the ‘24-‘26 picks. I hadn’t considered the fact that he could be gone at that point, so those three picks/pick swaps could end up being more valuable than I originally thought.

So using the assumption that all involved run with what they got, OKC got one potentially great pick, and two picks likely in the back end of the first round, and three picks that will depend on Kawhi and the Clippers’ next move and how the NBA landscape shifts.

NBA is doing a good job of keeping its brand in the public consciousness.

Kwahi signed a 2 + 1 contract instead of the 4 years being reported. Which will make him a free agent after 10 years which allows him to maximize his earnings.

Good move. He needs to cash in at some point. He has chosen situations over cash the past couple years.
