Also even on the play where they catch and score he steps over the line. They will never accept that medal and I do not blame them. Kenny Davis spoke at one of my kids camps, brought in the Olympic torch for the kids to see. It was an awesome day to say the least.

Why would anyone in the BGP universe seriously vote "No" to the poll attached to this thread?

If you see a username like "Putin Panther" or "Vladimir Vikings" then you will know why they voted "No." HAHA

Wasn't there a player from Georgetown College on the USA Olympic team that year?

What gets lost in the ending is that Doug Collins was undercut at the end and after almost being knocked out, made two FT's that were as pressure packed as any two FT's in the history of basketball. 3 seconds to go and down 1 and needs to make both to win a gold medal against the Russians in the middle of the cold war...doesn't get any more clutch than that...and he just drained them both...

Kenny Davis played at G-town. Played at Wayne Co.

Tom Burleson played at NC State on their NCAA title team.

You are right. I always got him confused with the Kenny Davis that played later for NC State after the Thompson years. Thanks for the correction.

As a Kentuckian by birth, I am ashamed to forget that.
