I need to get the signed jersey that he sent me framed. Very nice young man off the court.

Considering Green is getting 30 million. If he has a healthy season, hell get paid.

That is a shockingly low number for Cousins even with the injury issues.

Exactly. We can all play out if/when scenarios for after this season, but the reality is he would have inked a $100MM plus deal after the 2017 season had the Achilles injury not occurred. He has now signed a $5MM and $2.3MM deals in consecutive seasons.

This deal had to be more about the desire to get a ring.

Not a huge Boogie fan, but I like this signing and situation for him.

The Lakers still have a flawed roster of which it wouldn’t shock me to see half the team on IR through the year.

And last year's $5MM deal was with the knowledge that he was missing a big chunk of the year due to injury and rehab. This year's deal is with the expectation that he will be playing the entire season.

He can't catch a break these last couple of years.

Tough blow for both Cousins and the Lakers. For Cousins, the guy has had a rough couple of years and has cost himself millions of dollars. I do not care how much money he has, to know you left millions more on the table, that has to hurt. Also the fact the guy just loves to play, it seems. For the Lakers, they were going to be heavily reliant upon Boogie to shoulder the load inside and be a scoring threat, especially in the load management world we now live.

    Will this end Boogie's career?

I do not believe so. He theoretically could be back by playoff time, but most likely he will be shut down for this season.

Not sure what kind of deal he could have gotten on the open market, but taking practically a minimum deal to try and win a ring with the Lakers has to be haunting him.

I just wonder if he'll ever be able to get another deal that a healthy Boogie deserves.

Absolutely not. His best chance to cash in was this past off season.
