7th and 8th Grade Diocesan Tournament

Tournament gets underway this week at St Joe's Cold Spring. Should be a fun tourney. I expect St Joe's Cold Spring to win the 7th grade, and Blessed Sacrament to win the 8th.

    Update from last night:

7th grade: Sts. Peter & Paul beat St. Henry, and St. Mary beat St. Pius. So the bottom-half of the bracket has its semi-finalists.

8th grade: St. Pius beat St. Thomas.

I heard Holy Trinity was pretty good this year. It looks like they are the #1 seed from Campbell county. What league are they in? Who all have they beat?

Holy Trinity has the Pangallo kid and he is a LOAD to stop. He is going to be great at NewCath next year, that is unquestioned. I expect them to come out of the top half of the 8th and lose to BSS who has a little more balance, although not having a player of his ilk.

    Tonight's schedule:

    * 7th Grade semi-final between Sts. Peter & Paul vs St. Mary

    * 8th Grade quarter-final between Blessed Sacrament vs St. Therese

    * 7th Grade quarter-final between St. Joe's Cold Spring vs St. Joe's Crescent Springs

That first game should be outstanding. I expect lopsided outcomes in the final 2 games of the evening.

HT is 21-4. Undefeated in league play, bigger wins over Visitation (OH), a couple other OH parishes, Woodland, Gray.

Losses to Woodland first game of the season, Beechwood twice (once in OT), Guardian Angel (OH).

    Small school, but talented team.

Not to mention, the best player on the floor in every game they play. That helps too!!

I’d say possibly best two in almost every game with Pangallo & Iles.

Why are there only two teams from the Kenton County "A" (CCH) 8th grade league?

I was told St Augustine and Villa are from that league / division.
