Skill is no different than speed for example. Everyone is born with a certain amount of speed. You can train and get faster but you will ultimately be limited by you natural ability. Just because you could name 6-7 different golfers as the best doesn't mean there a more good golfers today. It just means you don't have that one dominate golfer like Tiger was for 15 or so years. Go back to the 80's and most of the 90's. You would also get 6-7...

So again, when skill is the biggest factor in a sport or even a position in a sport, today's athletes are no better than the were 10, 20, 30, or even 40 years ago. Guys today do not catch, kick, throw, or hit a ball any better today then be before. What is better is they are faster, more fit, and stronger. In a lot of positions in football that makes them better. In basketball it makes them better. In baseball it does not and in golf it doesn't....

No they aren't better. Again, they are bigger faster stronger. That doesn't mean better. I'm talking about skill. What generation you live doesn't factor into skill. And to say players are better today than 10-20 years ago is nonsense. Your talking about the same generation of players in a lot of cases. The best basketball player in the world in the world was playing 10 years ago. The same could be said for just about every position in every...

And I'd argue that bigger and stronger isn't that big of a deal off the tee. No one would confuse Justin Thomas with a big strong dude and he kills it off the tee. Equipment improvements have way more to do with guys hitting it longer and more accurate than anything.

We aren't talking about guys that played in the 60's. This was 10-20 years ago. What sport are guys now better than 10-20 years ago? And to be honest I don't think anyone thinks players are more skilled now at sports just bigger faster stronger. I would say most would argue baseball players of the past were better at the sport then today. Especially the art of hitting.

DJ is 34 so not under 30. Rickie folds under the pressure every major. Rahm, Dechambeau, and Fleetwood have less than 10 tour wins between and 0 Majors. Stenson is Tigers age, Bubba is 39, and Rose is 38. They are Tigers generation. Like I said, other than Spieth, Rory, and Koepka none of these young guns are dominating majors.

So does Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson and Jason Day and Patrick Reed. Fowler has zero. If the measure is multiple majors we are basically talking about Koepka, Speith, and Mcllroy. Of those two Speith and Mcllroy are the only two with sucess outside of the majors. If you watched Duval at his best he was unbelievable.

It's not a fact. Mid 90's - mid 00's there were a lot of elite golfers. They just had the bad luck of being elite when the GOAT was in his prime. In the late 90's David Duval was as dominate as anyone I can remember not named Tiger. Who knows what he could have done had he not had issues that basically ended his career.

Also best scoring round or even tournament score doesn't mean best day or weekend. Let's face it, this course wasn't the juggernaut that some of the US Open courses have been.

That's just not true. Tiger's B game meant he finished top 10 instead of winning. No different than this past weekend. Again, Koepka will never play better than he did this weekend and he only beat a Tiger B game by 2 strokes. Tiger's A is still better than ANYONE else on tour.

You're building these current guys up to be some kind of mental freaks. Then you discredit any measure to prove otherwise. So going by your logic how are the current guys any different than guys at the top when Tiger was in his prime? Those guys still gave Tiger a run, they just weren't as consistently good.

When you are at the top and blow up isn't that folding under the pressure? If not what is? How can you say these guys don't feel the pressure if you have no measure of it?

But his B game wasn't good enough 15 years ago when the top guys were on their A game. He won so much because he rarely didn't have his A game.

I don't disagree but he's also a dude that has only 1 non major PGA tour win. For some reason this dude seems to play his best in the big tournaments but hasn't found the same level of success in regular everyday tournaments.

Koepka played as good as he ever has and Tiger couldn't find a fairway with a Garmin. Tiger almost pulled it off. Tiger's A game is still better than anyone else.

Of course they feel pressure. It's non sense to say otherwise. We've seen these young guys have some bad moments in majors under pressure. The pressure seemed to get to Thomas on Sunday. Fowler crumbles to the pressure every major it seems.

To answer you questions... 1. Every year is different and unique so you have to take each as they come. The NCAA tournament is so random the best team is far for a lock to win it. So if they don't win it this year doesn't have any bearing on winning it next year, or the year after, or the year after. 2. No. Again, anyone who bases their feelings of a coach on titles is a fool.

By all accounts, the UK media should be predicting a great year for the cats. That doesn't mean they are saying they will win it all and most I've heard say they could win it all but really the odds are against any single team doing it. That doesn't mean UK fans shouldn't be excited. The problem with some fans is they hear that and twisted into "Title or Bust". Fact is UK is a top 5, probably top 3, team and could make a case for #1. I would say...

I was getting ready to say. Putting was far from his problem yesterday. He hits half of his drives in the fairway and he wins going away yesterday.

Tiger's play yesterday with his irons was something I thought we'd never see from him again. The accuracy he had when he was able to find the fairway was unreal. I really hope that is the Tiger we will see more often than not. If he can get his driver figured out I think he could go on a run.

Right because I said you were a horrible person. I'm pretty sure I was clear why I was asking my questions. Plain and simple I had not idea what point you were trying to make. You've been all over the place in you comments in this thread. Now that I think I understand the point you are making I will simply say I disagree. I don't think it's black in white in the way you say it is. I think it's black and white to most in that DV is never...

No you didn't. You said it could change how we view and treat DV but you didn't say how. So how does it change how we view DV? I seriously do not understand where you are going with this. You keep saying it's never acceptable but then make statements like you did in that post. So it's simple, DV is never acceptable under any circumstances. Any, never, ever, is is acceptable. Does matter what Sally did, period.

And what does any of that change? Short of Ron defending himself in a life or death situation it does not matter what Sally does. If Ron hits her that is 100% on Ron.
