High School would be Belfry. I graduated 20+ yrs ago and I wear a sweatshirt that reads "Once A Pirate Always A Pirate." The 1985 state runners up team was a close knit group. A couple of the players from that team are a part of the coaching staff now at BHS. College would be Marshall. When they were in the Southern Conference and would play Appy State that was some great memories also. The National Championship was wonderful too!!!

Word is at this point it may not be serious. Team dr. should be looking at it now. If it was thought to be serious he would have been sent to the hospital ER last night. Dr."Coach" Chuck was in Lexington enjoying a huge Wildcat victory!

Bless their hearts. You know the BHS staff is not one to run up the score and especially under such terrible circumstances of yesterdays accident.

Trying to get game moved to 1p due to the Ky/Lville game. Attendance will be effected by this. The SV players are in my prayers.

Congrats Pirates on another great win. I'm trying my best not to already start looking towards the playoffs but this team could very possible be another "special" team. Can't wait until the P'ville game. This will be a battle of the unbeatens. That is if P'ville holds up their end of the deal.

Along with the entire community, my heart is broken. Mr.Phillips was a great person. He loved the Pirates and the Pirates loved him. It just won't be the same tonight without hearing that voice and his catch phrases that we all know so well. My prayers go out to Brenda and the family.

Belfry is having a problem right now also. I do know they are taking every precaution needed to try and prevent this.

I haven't had the heart to get back on BGP since our loss. However, I did want to wish Russell a safe trip to L'ville and to bring the Title back with them. Good Luck!

GREAT POST!!!! We just finished dinner and the topic was also about the game. It was fun for a while then everyone got quiet and it seemed as though we had OUR game faces on....it is going to be a long night and day tomorrow.

Yes! They will be playing on natural grass Friday night. Plus, if you could have heard them pulling out it was like they were heading to the Super Bowl. They were hyped! Vipperman Stadium will always hold a special place in our football teams heart no matter if they played on that field or not. It is to our team like Lambeau Field is to the Packers!
